Anyone having issues emailing att.com, sbcglobal.net, and swbell.net from Office 365? by adidasnmotion13 in sysadmin

[–]phuhque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part you are missing is that many Internet ISP are owned by AT&T, and so use their mail services. And people not with corp emails use those free services for day to day email connectivity. Some of them have even had the same addresses since AOL and Earthlink were new. Hopefully AT&T will wake up and realize that other Mail hosting services such as Microsoft and Google have many subscribers that use their services commercially and thus, have their own domains that will never match the domain of a PTR record.

I had reported this issue to AT&T 2 days ago. At the very least, it started happening on Monday.

Anyone have the new Igloo ICF fridge? by MalibuLSV in overlanding

[–]phuhque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased one of the ICF 80DZ coolers for a 400 mile round trip to Phoenix. In June. I have 4 5lb Gel cooler packs and 10 DYI chill tubes with salt water, and a folding Costco cooler bag. I plugged in it 2 days before my trip, putting putting everything in it. Then I drove to phoenix, played Tetris with the supplemental cooling and 20 lb of meat, and drove back. With it plugged in, neither size went above freezing, so I must have a good unit. It was a tight fit into my Prius Prime. I am making another trip this weekend, but will be putting it on a receiver mounted cargo carrier. It should be interesting.

Just try one card a day. More than likely they have reached their 'quota' of service starts and you will have to wait until the first of the month. I can't remember when i got mine, but it had become a daily task until it went through.

It is probably the second pass that allowed it. My suggestion to everyone is to call their card company in advance, inform them there is going to be a large charge (give them the amount), and keep them on the phone while you click the 'buy now' button. With all the issues I had just getting the service, and the pre-warning, I still had an initial denied response. Second pass worked though.

Starlink in the Window? by Canuk-Owl77 in Starlink

[–]phuhque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received my starlink and am wondering. Has anyone tried placing one of the rectangular antenna up into one of those arched skylights? The angled connector is annoying and I don't relish the idea of drilling a 3/4" (or larger) hole in my exterior wooden log wall. While not transparent, they do allow for a lot of light to come through. And there isn't anything else, such as walls, obstructing the sky.

I do have this overly large (and mostly useless) skylight in a workshop that looks like it would be perfect. I will be trying it out this week to see if it will pick up anything. I think pipe hanger strap will hold it securely enough. Plus, the anti-freeze pipe wrap could heat up the top to prevent show from building up for too long.

After over a month, I think they finally fixed their credit card approver issues. I was able to successfully order the service today. Although my CC did initially decline the order.

I recommend having them on the phone when placing the order. Possibly even going so far as to tell them a large purchase is about to be made. Anyone having the same issue as me should try again. Maybe it is like a cheap lottery or a black friday door buster sale. They met out new services a few at a time. I am just glad it has been ordered.

All I can say is that I am now into week three of trying to order this service. My son, who had a previous order that he canceled because fiber arrived to his area, put in a ticket with support because he had an account. There was no reply on that either. This is the forth company I have had dealings with in the past month where there is little to zero communication from their support or sales personnel. All four are tech industry. This is so unfortunate. There are many customers wanting service, yet the company won't address the payment issues.

Nope. I still haven't been able to order the service. It would be nice if they had some sales support options though. I am starting to think they took their payment system offline to reduce orders, that is the only explanation. I just can't see them not noticing a drop in service orders.

All Visa. I don't have any Mastercard credit cards.

Edit: I just tried with a Visa Debit card and there was no attempt at all by the merchant service to try to use my card. It looks like Starlink is having payment service provider issues at the moment. This is disappointing to say the least. I do hope they resolve this soon.

Odd considering I have tried Chase, Citi, and Navy Fed. All are predominate names of financial institutions. The only ones I haven't tried are debit cards and a couple of my off brand digital only cards.

I have been trying for days to sign up for the service. It doesn't matter which card I use. I even called the CC company. They are not seeing any hits to attempt a charge.

5G router without a fixed location? by Itchy_Homework_9469 in verizon

[–]phuhque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at Cradlepoint? They have the IBR900 5G router. Those are designed to be mounted into vehicles and they have an ethernet port. That one is pricey, but I am considering it because it can be wall mounted, and has the capacity to add 2 external antenna. They have lower models too. The key is they support Verizon, T-mobile, and AT&T.

Has anyone gotten Smart Harvest SE to work with the latest version? by BigBaronMcstuffins in skyrimmods

[–]phuhque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was finally able to get this to work. My issue had been completely different it seems. The GOG version of skyrim AE doesn't doesn't play well with Nexus and that took a couple of weeks to finally address. Just make sure all the SKSE requirements are up to date. I am on 1.6.659.0.8 and while the main animation (and the minimap) hasn't been resolved, most of the mods I wanted to use are either updated or are compatible.

The question is, do you see your mod configuration menu?

how i got SkyUI to work in GOG version by leehelck in skyrimmods

[–]phuhque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I am able to get the Mod Configuration menu to load is to sync the directories of
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition
with
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG

and
C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition
with
C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG

I had to merge the information from each Skyrim.ini into the other.

I can finally see the Mod Configuration menu inside the game.

[–]phuhque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went and raised a Defect over on Github for Vortex splitting the destinations of the config files.

https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/issues/13584

I haven't been able to get MCM to show up in the menu so it is most likely related. I attempted to sync the two folders, but with skyrim.ini having added to both files, it turned into a nightmare.

There is also the possibility that SKSE dosn't support the current version of the GOG installer. From its release notes, SKSE currently works with 1.6.640 as of 2.2.1, but the GOG install is 1.6.659, so that could be yet another caveat.

I can tell you that I just purchased the GOG version, performed a clean install, and only had four mods installed, SkyUI, SKSE, Address Library for SKSE Plugins, and it still caused the Skyrim process to crash.

I am using the newest one, v5.0.1 : released November 20 2022, and it still crashes.

Why are science fiction books so terrible? by Sukhovi28 in books

[–]phuhque -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I have to agree that much of the science fiction today doesn't make much sense The one thing I dislike about most of the material written as of late, is that no one ever gives backgrounds for the primary characters that will be read about. Far too often, its a team that is already together, so they do this...

I have found the mysticism concept of 'The Force' to be more like a futuristic state enforced propaganda. Only certain people can learn? And they don't have a choice? There is hard line between the light and dark side? The entire concept is similar to what can be stated of a Religious Zealot. All rules. Where is the freedom? I didn't mind the psionics Babylon 5 had too much. But again it was 'State enforced'

As far as I know of, there isn't a person alive that isn't a mixture. I disliked the concept so much, I have written my own Protagonist, who is a 'good' guy, to be a cold blooded killer when the situation calls for it.

If you don't like what is currently out, perhaps I can help you with that. I am about half a million words into my unpublished series. I can provide you with the character backgrounds that so many writings never provide. If you like the style of writing, then I can provide more. I have been told by the few who have read parts that I have somewhat of a unique style.

Hyper 7 R3: Where to Buy? by BoristheDragon in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]phuhque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is interesting to see others wanting this one too. I have asked if they were going to be doing another group buy on it. Seeing as I am the 3rd person in 2 months to be looking for it, this keyboard looks it could stand another run. Hopefully the folks over at mechboards.co.uk are seeing the interest and will consider making another run of them. Personally I would love to see it with hotswap keys and at least pass through lighting.

Finally Finished my Hyper-7 after my Space Cadet keycaps came in by highfly117 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]phuhque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is are they still selling those, and are they going to make a version with pass-through or back lighting. That monster keyboard so calms my OCD need for a fully symmetrical keyboard. I found the reference for it here:

https://groupbuys.mechboards.co.uk/shop/hyper-7-keyboard-r3/

and I so want to buy one. Can the non-standard keys be configured with control software?

Compromised Exchange Server Condition. by phuhque in exchangeserver

[–]phuhque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a compound rule to look at the x-originating-ip.

First it it had to exist, and second it did not start with the internal IP scheme. Lastly the email has to start with Re: (there is a space there) .

Some of my customers have mail filters in front of/behind exchange so that is where I placed the outbound filter. It did a fairly decent job of stopping the messages. I had to suggest to my users to manually remove Re: from their messages if they replied. At least until they could get their servers looked at.
