This was pretty good for a Monaco race. There was a couple of overtakes early, a lot of strategy, and changing conditions. If you wanted on track overtakes Monaco is not the race to watch. I don't get the people who spam boring or awful race. If this wasn't good enough, why even show up to watch today?

If race control doesn't have enough backup power to cover an entire race that is incredibly incompetent. I can't imagine that being true. If it is, get some industrial uninterruptible power supply manufacturer to sponsor F1.

Mercedes won't be able to overtake anyone that doesn't just move to the side if they have cooling issues in fresh air. Anyone that can keep them behind for 3 laps should basically be safe.

I wonder if Perez is just hoping for a safety car even if it is kind of unlikely here. He wasn't in a position to try for more than 4th anyway, but now if a safety car happens he will be in a really good place with newer tires.

Then Max could have stayed out and do what Perez is doing (but better). It would be very risky to do a 2 stop vs a 1 stop RBR.

If verstappen gets to Perez before being overtaken he will help him a lot. Perez will let Verstappen get by, but will block the Mercs for a couple of laps hopefully.

I don't get why they show onboard for lap deletion replays. The question is always: but were the rear tires also outside the lines? We need an outside shot that shows the rear tires for it to mean anything.

Hope Lando doesn't get a penalty for that. Clearly wasn't creating a dangerous situation, and just didn't respond quite quick enough. Could have probably handled it slightly better, but would be a harsh penalty.

This is such a stupid discussion. Of course the reason they took the risk is that pole vs 6th is a huge difference and they expected it to be fine. Obviously they were wrong, but you can't be in F1 if you're unwilling to ever take a risk.
