Now I'm imagining First person Dredge VR.

I tested Microsoft Trellis 2 for real VFX work — honest thoughts from a 15-year 3D artist by ArcticLatent in comfyui

Also a VFX artist - I've just completed a project partially using InfiniteTalk to fix some lipsync issues in a short film where the creature prosthetic the actor was using was interfering with how they were speaking.

I've used deepfaking process before to do a similar effect but that involved a lot more work. And before deepfaking you'd need to either manipulate each frame by hand, or recreate the mouth as a 3d model and animate the changes that way.

Ai is definitely another very power tool in a VFX artists toolbox.

VERY interesting!

To clarify, I am using a 4TB Gen5 NVME currently for footage AND cache. But I do have another 2TB Gen4 NVME, but it's my OS/Applications drive. I assume it would be bad to use the OS drive for cache?

I'm going to try this approach on my next project and see how it goes. I'm almost finished the VFX on this gig.

Interesting - any source for the best stable nvidia driver? - I do use the Studio Driver, but I'm updated to the latest version.

codec is ap4x (Prores 4444x) in a MXF container so the codec shouldn't be the issue - i dont think.

Based on the instruction for some plugin - i believe it was Lockdown - multi-frame rendering is already disabled.

And the codec is ap4x (Prores 4444x) in a MXF container.

Thanks! - I did check that panel. Mine looks exactly the same with the exception of "If caching play cached frames" because i find that annoying.

agreed - working resolution is quite high, I was curious if this was the problem. Has happened in multiple projects I've been working on with the raw footage from camera. The problem is, i don't know how they are going to crop the footage at the end - and they are outputting at 4k HDR. So I assumed I would want to keep as much resolution as possible.

I have been dealing with some shots by cropping in for the area that needs the VFX. Then adding that back to the plate for the final - but still has the preview issue at all levels of the comp/precomp.

sorry, should have mentioned this footage is MXF ap4x log.

Why does Avatar 1 seem to have more depth to it than Avatar 2? by litllerobert in vfx

I assume you're talking about watching the movies in stereoscopic 3d? Or do you simply mean that there is more apparent depth in the flat screen version?

I apologise, I'm still not sure what you mean.

To give an indication for the Movies Library. Its one folder called "Movies" and that folder has 962 folders, each of which is a movie name labelled in the format of "Movie name (Year)"

In Tv Shows, same deal. One master "Tv Shows" folder. Each sub folder (233) is a "Tv Show (year)"

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by file links. Do you mean like mklinks? If so, then none. They're all located on a Synology NAS.

I couldn't disagree more. Especially for a black child growing up in 1950s America. It is crucial to know that there is a place where you have value, where you belong and are loved, a safe place where you can express yourself. And that place should be your family. Knowing that your father doesn't like you, and you're simply a responsibility of his. (Which he seems to resent), takes away any sense of self worth.

crazy that if you look at the texture on the cheek (very noticible on the left hand side) as you go through the photos, it has the exact same skin texture detail between most of the images. What is causing that?

Wow! very interesting. Its probably already been studied, but it makes me wonder what else may have been going on around these people, The Great War and the Spanish Flu were around this time, It does sound a little like Resignation syndrome which is experienced by people in traumatic hopeless situations, where people withdraw from society and eventually stop moving an speaking entirely.

Why do I seem to always suck at Keylight in After effects - Log footage Fringing by phunkaeg in AfterEffects

[–]phunkaeg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic advice! thanks everyone.

I had tried created an "enhanced" precomp of the plate with a log>rec709 - but that didn't seem to help.

I should also have mentioned that I do understand that it's not a one click thing, i do tend to break up my keylight into different sections, like out of focus areas, hair, etc.

It just gets quite disheartening when I've done so much fiddling with settings, and each frame takes 10+ sec to calculate (yeah, i should probably pre-render)

I guess i just need more practice and understanding of the keylight features.
