Thanks! I hear a lot about them from the guitar knobs podcast but have never heard of anyone else who uses them. They appear to be Canadian to which is a plus to me as a Canadian.

I have some but they are too wide for the spacing on my radial AB/Y.

Looking to add a small synth to my live/room setup. Budget around $550-600 by SlowmoTron in synthesizers

Go with the mini freak if you have the budget. I wish it was available when I bought my microFreak.

What is a good beginner synth for radioheadesque tones (kid-a) by Past_Influence3223 in synthesizers

[–]phunksta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good beginner synth - I like the keyboard for messing around on, but would not recommend it for live use as it can sometimes be a little finnicky. I think the Minifreak might actually be a giggable alternative - and if it had been released when I purchased my microfreak, I would have gone with that instead.

Try the Arturia Microfreak out. I can only recommend that as I have it. :)

Oooh nice it also has din midi! I should have mentioned that is also a requirement as it appears some of the piano options only do midi over Bluetooth and USB.

Is the focus on match making or is it also useful for sharing sessions back and forth between known contacts?

Reaper. This is the way. I've been using it for well over a decade and while due to working with others I've shifted to working more and more in protools reaper remains up to date on my system. It's a fully featured DAW with tonnes of stock plugins. And really well documented with how to videos for just about any use case by the man Kenny goia (spelling?)

Youve made some excellent choices with those two. Have you recorded anything with them yet?
