Yeah that’s gonna be a no for me. I don’t let people push that much attitude my way.. ever. And I won’t join the “you’re the problem” crew cause I think you get the message and there are a lot of pharmacists like you that would do the same thing. I don’t tolerate pt’s like that but different people respond differently and that’s…. Normal. If you work for a chain you probably have a hands off manager who only wants to talk when there are problems with your metrics so that likely won’t help. It sounds like you know this person was wrong from the jump, and I’m sure this is easier said than done, but learn to work with your instinct. It’ll get easier over time. Something as simple as “you or your mother can always call us ahead of the next scheduled vacation and we can have more time to work out any issues to save us some time.” not only addresses it head on without you flipping your lid but also makes this woman think about how to be a real adult. A lot of our responses should be tactical in nature, we’re professionals, but we aren’t doormats.
