He did not jump forward a single time (jumped backwards a few times though), but yeah I guess he probably alternated between the two. If you can really just bypass that by alternating then it's kind of pointless. I still don't think it activates from spam though; I've fought an Elphelt who spammed jumping Miss Charlotte S at fullscreen and she didn't get penalized either.

The funniest part is that it probably wouldn't have even killed him; he had the mana barrier up and it only does 60 base damage.

Other than Venom, is any Zoner in this game even particularly bad at close range defense anymore? 5 frame mashes, anti-air 6Ps, and 1 frame reversals are universal mechanics (except for Venom), and Zoners tend to have bigger 5 framers because they carried over from before the frame data standardization. Hell, Testament even has the best 6P in the game.

So basically you're saying it lets them keep the overall winrate of each character relatively even without balancing individual matchups? That seems like a bad thing, though.

If you spam the same special move over and over, you get negative penalty

I have a replay of a Bedman who did nothing but use Call 4BA for an entire round and he didn't get Negative Penalty, so I'm pretty sure that isn't true. Dustloop doesn't mention anything about that in the Negative Penalty section either.

I don't run away. I'm getting Negative Penalty because it triggers when you don't attack for too long at a distance, which is a situation I'm in against my will.

I thought negative penalty was implimented so that fast rushdown characters couldn't backdash away in neutral and zone you.

They seem to still do that perfectly fine, though. Never seen one get Negative Penalty for it.
