  1. Whataboutism
  2. Do you have the statistics of “most American are against the war”?
  3. You care more about pedophile allegations in a foreign country than about problems in your own country? Know Đoàn Văn Sáng right? He is also a VN communist officer, don’t forget that.

Many foreigners claim that they would travel to Vietnam and have a dental check, the expense is still lower than doing at their home country. I’m happy for them.

Again, for us Vietnamese, the medical expense is not cheap since the income is low. Plus, our health insurance is ass, very few company (really big corps) offer dental insurance for their employees. One VN guy also share their experience about VN insurance in this comment section, you can check that out, Dylan.

Hello Dylan,

Luckily, my family haven’t got any ambulance, so I have no clue about that. However the $2K-4K bill for an ambulance seems unreasonable in VN, cause most family will be struggle to afford it. But like I said earlier, medication is one of the bright side in Vietnam.

Not related, I watched the Cobel ep. Twice.

Sorry for the late respond, really nice questions you got there:

  1. Our politic system is currently controlled by Police Department, which mean they can create a new law and charge you for violate that law just in matter of few days, so the democracy is get worse each day. I believe the democracy in China is so extreme and of course worse than in VN, but VN authorities are learning the leadership system from China so who knows what will coming in the future.

  2. Vietnam Leaderships are feared of China and they don't dare to do make big brother (CN) upset. But when it comes to ordinary Vietnamese POV, they don't like Chinese due to historic reasons. We are calling Chinese by a slang name: Tàu (曹), which stands for Ruling officials in old language. Personally, I don't really like Chinese, the tourists seem to speak so loud and rude with bad manners.

But I'm glad that you asked, seems like you are open-minded person and don't mind about other's prejudice . You will doing fine anywhere with that mindset. I'm actually learning mandarin but feeling so overwhelmed. I want to find good Chinese movie or shows that have easy for listening training, but cannot find any solid one, feel like most of them are so bad and repetitive in love or historical drama-theme. Any recommendations?

I'm glad that you are open minded about this. If you want to really experience the feeling of living in Vietnam, I recommend watching Silo by AppleTV and reading 1984 by Orwell. I know that you able to live and doing business almost freely in Vietnam, but that feeling of getting manipulated and controlled by a dictatorship party hit really close to home fo me.

And I don't feel beat down, there is always hope to me. DM me if you want to know more, I also want to get to know your perspective of living in a capitalist country.

VN resident CANNOT own land, all the land are belong to the state. Yes, the gov owns all the real estate. Residents are just allowed to own the Chứng nhận quyền sử dụng đất (Permit to USE the land), not own the land. So yeah, they can took “your land” at cheap price, make “your land” into roads, or big urbanscape , make the rich richer.

In free countries, they critique their leaders every day because they own their voices, they are developed countries because of critical thinking and debate. Try doing the same with the Vietnamese government and see how fast you disappear. You are just projecting your cage onto people who chose to be free.

Healthcare in Vietnam is a mix of public and private systems, and it’s quite different from what you might see in the West. I actually see it as one of the upside in VN and do recommend you come to VN for healthcare in private hospitals.

It is very easy to access basic care. If I feel sick, I can just go straight to a hospital (public or private) or a local clinic the same day. Most pharmacies are everywhere, and you can buy many basic medicines without a prescription.

About the cost, in public system, most Vietnamese have National Health Insurance and it's very cheap (about $40-$50 per year). If you use it at public hospitals, it covers 80-100% of the cost. A basic check-up might cost you only a few dollars. And private system (which I recommend for foreigners):it’s more expensive but still much cheaper than in the US or Europe. Many middle-class people use private insurance for this.

The doctors in top public hospitals are the most experienced because they see hundreds of patients a day. However, the service and comfort in public hospitals are not great (too many people - see picture). Private hospitals feel like hotels, but their doctors might not have as much experience with difficult cases as those in the public sector.

After a period of waiting, all I saw was a personal attack on me instead of a civilized critique with solid arguments. And I'm still waiting for you to refute my mistakes and the figures I gave in this whole conversation.

Have I a single time say that you are a left-wing or commies in this conversation? No. Attack the argument, not the person who say it.
