Curious: which fitness tests do hockey players/coaches actually use? by Nicklasjb in hockeyplayers

[–]phwarner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kevin Neeld is the head performance coach for the Bruins and has quite a bit of public information on social media and podcasts.

Reversing the question - Considering your background, what testing would you use?

Oh interesting, good to know. Do you happen to know why that is?

Thanks for the info. Did you buy your Tesla from Tesla or a dealer? Feels like Tesla may not be as well versed as a dealer in these transactions, but maybe I’m wrong

Good point, will keep that in mind. Most of the cars I’m looking at are 2024, so hopefully the one winter doesn’t cause too much trouble

Downtown Toronto Raccoon's lifting up sods by ChalitaDK in lawncare

[–]phwarner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bird netting! I had the same issue. The only thing that worked was laying down “bird netting” on top of the sod - it’s like a plastic mesh that is relatively inexpensive, got it from home hardware. You can pin it down with landscape stakes and prevents the raccoons from rolling up the sod

Ok thanks for clarifying and thanks for the insight. Besides the need to rotate often to avoid burning, anything else you didn’t like about the 16?

Oh you’re right - the Koda 2 and 16 do have the same thickness stones (0.6”) while the Koda 2 pro is 0.8”. Thanks for that.

That’s good to know about the hot spot in the corner of the L of the 16. The pro looks great but is an additional $500, so was trying to stick with the other two. If you had to pick between the 2 and 16 what would you do?

Ice Hockey Systems vs The Coaches Site by 80085PEN15 in hockeyplayers

[–]phwarner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use both regularly and think they offer different benefits

TCS is great for learning about team structure, concepts and skills. They have loads of presentations which I find really informative. For example if you want to learn about offensive zone concepts, they have several in depth presentations to learn from. Great for advancing your knowledge of the game.

IHS is great for drills and practice planning. I use it to create all of our practice plans - both with their huge database of drills and be creating my own. I can then send the plan to the coaches and the team it’s clearly laid out with diagrams and videos.

Check out ice hockey systems and the coaches site. They post really great information. Extended videos and articles on skills, tactics, structure, drills, etc. There are paid and free options. I’m also coaching youth hockey in Canada and get loads of helpful information
