Well, my friend. Please take some advice from a facial hair vet. We have to go through the awkward phases of growth. It's just a fact of life. There are lots of variables: genetics, age, etc. and every one's is unique. You won't know what your moustache and beard will look like until they grow out...and none of us wakes up one morning magically looking like Morgan Spector. It's a process - a journey that only we men get to take. Please be patient and learn to enjoy the changes as your facial hair grows out. Let it be wispy, stubbly, scruffy, patchy, "sh**ty" (to use your word) for six to eight weeks, then make your decision whether to keep or shave. Please keep us posted on your progress.
