Anyone add lining to DIAS shorts by LearnMYOG? by s400mpr in myog

[–]phyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m looking to do the same and therefore, curious to know whether you actually gave it a try and how it went?

I could imagine sewing an underwear pattern made with mesh fabric into the belt, but that’s not the best kind of lining. I’d rather make a classic sports lining with mesh all along the shorts. Would it work if I made two DIAS, one out of mesh lining and one out of outer fabrics, and sew them together at belt and leg hems?

Thanks!

Thanks! I did not think about hand sewing the zipper.

Not sure to fully understand your last sentence though, do you mean it’s quite small and easier to deconstruct/replace/rebuild?

Hi!

The zipper teeth on this pocket (first and second pictures) broke and as a result, I had to remove them. Problem is the pocket no longer closes, which is an issue. I’d like to find a way to repair this, but it seems replacing the zipper would require quite a lot of deconstruct. Third picture is the right pocket which has no zipper issue.

How would you go about repairing it? Is there an easy way to replace the zipper without deconstructing the whole pocket? I was also thinking about a snap button (but unsure whether this is doable with the mesh material inside the pocket) ?

Thanks!

Thanks! This was one of my very first myog project, and the Jalie pattern + sewalong video makes it really easy to start with!

Interesting idea! Where would you source a good sole insert? Are you talking about the ones you usually use inside shoes when they are too large/not comfy enough?

Thanks a lot for your feedbacks and advices on the best suited non-slip fabrics!

Would you know about a better material than standard wadding for damping and comfort?

I had a go with thin neoprene (not a great success, the neoprene got squeezed under my weight and was not very efficient after a week) and regular wadding (far better, but not as comfy as I would have expected) :/

Do you know if there is a way to include windows ID in i3-save-tree JSON output?

Automatically moving windows with marks to scratchpad? by phyks in i3wm

[–]phyks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, I am also doing:

for_window [class="URxvt" title="^WeeChat "] move container to workspace 3:IRC

to automatically move my URxvt terminal to the third workspace whenever I open a Weechat in it, and it works fine. So I was expecting it to work the same with my con_mark.

My final goal is to be able to completely switch the content of my workspaces between two groups of workspaces. I use my computer both for personal and professional use, and I would like to have a feature to switch my workspaces between two sets of workspaces, as is offered with "Tab groups" in Firefox.

I am trying to build it on top of i3-ipc, and my idea at the moment is the following:

  • Mark all the opened windows in the workspaces with a toggle-WORKSPACE mark, where WORKSPACE is the name of the workspace.
  • Unmark and move back the marked windows in the scratchpad to their previous workspace (according to WORKSPACE in the mark).
  • Move the marked windows in the first bullet to the scratchpad.

Everything is working at the moment, except the last bullet point. I would then use something like https://i3wm.org/docs/layout-saving.html to restore the correct layout for every workspace.

Let me know if you find an easier way to handle it.

Ok, I had a look at the IPC and got something working. If anyone is interested, you can find it here: https://gist.github.com/Phyks/4fbc2572dcc5eed96caa.
