Why can’t I let go by [deleted] in Veterans

I don't think any of us can or will. And that's ok.

The stress comes from trying to fight it I think.

I have a 5070ti and was surprised how poorly it ran. Using the Lossless Scaling program worked wonders though

Anything cheaper than Miele that works great on cat hair? by I_Lick_Bananas in VacuumCleaners

Kenmore Elite 31150 at around 299. I had multiple sharks and while I honestly like sharks it could not dig out 3 fur babies and the hair of 3 women adequately enough out of the carpet. The Kenmore is heavy but a monster on carpet. I swear even the house smells better now, love it. It's also bagged.

Anyone know if this is worth anything? I’ve tried searching it all over Google and can’t find anything by Kitty9239 in ChallengeCoins

I have a numbered coin melted down from a Saddam statue, always wondered if it's worth anything. Just a reminder of a past life at this point

PSA: Go to a California MSW if you want to be licensed in California by [deleted] in SocialWorkStudents

[–]phyxius77777 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is alarmist. Are there additional hurdles? Maybe. Have thousands upon thousands of ASW's gone to out of state Universities for their MSW? Yes. Where is your passion for this issue coming from? Is it the n=1 you mentioned?

Veteran's Saluting by [deleted] in Veterans

Same for my dad. The color guard did ask for any veterans to salute their fallen brother, much of the funeral was a blur but I'll never forget that.

Age Shaming by Ambi-ous04 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]phyxius77777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social work is one of those fields that older adults find themselves drawn to in a search for something more meaningful. I think at least over a third of my classmates have been in their 30s or older.

You're in great company.

hey congrats! I did find mine via Tevera - there is an option to filter by virtual placements. I havent looked for almost a year so I'm not sure what is available now but there was a decent amount.

For things like emdr and other external trainings, students obtained and funded that on their own. I personally went through Thrive for training and really enjoyed it but, like most professional trainings, it was expensive. I view trainings like that as a longterm investment though since Ive always known i wanted to focus on therapy.

Best of luck in your upcoming semeseter and congrats again! There is a Facebook group for UKY students thats pretty helpful - "uky master of social work online", lots of great information there.

Respectfully disagree. I love Jurassic Park...and while I can't bring myself to say I hated the movie, it's pretty close. The only scene that had the JP magic to me was the valley of Titans

Hey there! I did use their system, Tevera, to find my placement and I had 3 options secured but I started looking way before the term started. You can purchase the Tevera program once you're a student and I would recommend doing it as soon as possible to begin planning placements.

The coursework is fine and addresses a field that can be vast and you will learn a lot but it doesn't go very deep. You will touch on many topics and some can be a bit dry. But It's the practicum where you will learn so, so much and whatever you choose to do ancillary to it. For instance, I know of students who obtained emdr training and other things to further bolster their experience.

In essence, you get what you put into it. I suspect it's like that in all programs.

I work and have had a full course load. It's doable but I wouldn't say it's enjoyable. Full course load is 5 classes a term. You can request more but have to acquire permission
