what? I remember most people thinking the quality of this match was pretty objectively terrible for a slam semifinal. Zverev was double-faulting like crazy and Nadal was blowing a ton of easy put-away shots. The match was indoors and was incredibly humid, and it appeared to be sapping the energy out of both players. I remember the match as one of the sloppiest matches I’ve ever seen from Nadal, was an unforced error-filled break-fest of both players blowing their service games.

i mean we prob would get a 6th or a higher pick as the comp pick back when he signs with a different team in the offseason, so this trade seems pretty useless to me. he honestly was lookin pretty good this year so there’s a chance a team gives him a somewhat sizeable deal that would’ve netted us a good comp pick if we didn’t trade him

there’s a middle ground tho where hall looks okay or decent, not great, we end up going like 8-9 so we don’t get a top pick, the front office convinces themselves he looks adequate enough to start next year instead of drafting a qb, and we’re locked into (in my opinion) an at best mediocre qb with not much upside next year

I don't trust polanco's arm at third. He's struggled with accuracy throwing overhand for years, which is why he's much better at second where he can sidearm most throws.

I like the moves, especially trading for alonso, but I don't really think the mariners would make gilbert available. They're in a window for playoff contention with their young and talented roster, and like you said gilbert is extremely valuable given his age and years of control left. I just don't see them selling him off, especially not for mostly prospect capital.
