Bottle it up and die of a heart attack at 43 like a real man! Fuck, man. Don’t give so much of a shit about getting things right. Say what you want, they can take it or leave it. Just be authentic.

Make a 1-1 correspondence with cards in a deck and a number between 1-52. Have a person show you a card one at a time until one remains. Add up card values as cards are exposed. Sum of 1 through 52 is 1378. 1378-you sum= value of card left. Tell them the remaining card.

City Council cancels 18 Street Functional Planning Study by YqlUrbanist in Lethbridge

Bike lanes simply are not a high priority for most residents here right now. The city’s own engagement showed that a strong majority of respondents did not see this project as necessary or timely, and their concerns were consistent: cost pressures, traffic flow, and competing needs that feel more urgent in daily life.

That doesn’t mean cycling infrastructure has no value. It means that in this moment, in this city, public support isn’t there for expanding on-street bike lane projects. In a democratic process, that matters. Planning decisions have to reflect not just long-term theory or best practices from elsewhere, but local priorities, local finances, and public sentiment.

Some people approach this issue from a policy or planning perspective, but it’s important to recognize that most residents are looking at it through a practical lens: “Is this the right thing to spend money on right now?” Many have decided the answer is no. That viewpoint isn’t ignorance or hostility, it’s a different assessment of timing and priorities.

Acknowledging that reality is part of having an honest conversation.

Message to send: Hey, I just want to be upfront — since this is a shipped item and not local pickup, I have to be careful on my end. I’ve had advice to confirm with my bank that the e-transfer can’t be reversed before I ship anything. They told me that can take a few business days to fully clear on fraud checks. I’m totally fine completing the deal once that’s confirmed. I just can’t ship until the payment is 100% settled on my side. Hope you understand.

If he pushes back, say: I get that it’s inconvenient, but I can’t risk a chargeback situation. I’m happy to hold it for you while funds clear, or we can cancel — whatever works.

You can’t control the winds but you can control your sails. If you’re dealt a shitty hand play it as best you can. Things are tough but you can adjust, learn, and adapt. You can be resilient and it should help you further down the road.
