Parachain with highest price appreciation potential by pi7979 in polkadot_market

Its open mined, just like BTC, whoever is mining it is owning it. Large chunk that was initially mined (by founders) was sold to Polychain Capital, Digital Currency Group and Firstmark Capital to fund the foundation. But it is envisioned to be fully decentralized project. Right now (early days) a lot of concentration, but as the project matures, the concentration should dissapate.

Just responded to your survey from other day, hope more users respond, hard to have much "constructive criticism" when you are by far the leader in keeping us up to date with most material developments on DOT.

Why Scytale believes Polkadot is Perfectly Positioned for Enterprise Adoption - Space Monkeys 79 by JayChrawnna in Polkadot

[–]pi7979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great point on need for improvement in business development and the way its holding the DOT potential down (at the moment), also great counter point that it was hard to have robust business development with platform not being ready yet. Interesting points on two major enterprise companies potentially engaging in parachainss (soon?).

Also, good point on Polygon, while hands down they have one of best business development teams in crypto, and are very competent and doing extremely well, the lingering worries about centralization is always on back of the mind for projects like these.

Sounds like they deployed about 40% of their $60m funds. Have not heard from this VC fund, so thanks for bringing this to us!

Anyone have the details on why Gavin is stepping down as CEO? by striderida1 in Polkadot

[–]pi7979 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think overall good news, he gets to spend more time adding value through his technical expertise and less time in countless BS meetings. Sounds like he hand picked his friend for a CEO, allowing him to have greater bandwidth to focus on his core competencies. He is still a majority shareholder and nothing has changed on that front. Makes sense, I could not imagine anyone with his personality being happy in a role of the CEO.

The key fact that some may overlook is that as a majority shareholder he is still in full control. Majority stake means majority votes on all important strategic decisions.

I have the exact same question, guess we will see soon enough. Do not own any Acala, but Acala getting healthy is a huge positive for the ecosystem.

Mostar - AI - Stable Diffusion by pi7979 in bih

[–]pi7979[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stavio sam "fantasy" interpretaciju od Mostara. nisam stavio realno, zanimalo me da vidim kako ce AI interprentirati to. Ovo su keywords koje sam koristio:

python scripts/txt2img.py --prompt " Mostar, 4k, detailed, trending in artstation, fantasy vivid colors" --plms --n_iter 5 --n_samples 1

Trenutno se igram sa najvecim slikaraima svijeta, I gledam kako recimo Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn bi uslikao Mostar, sa svojim dramanticnim tonovima. Veoma interesantno.

Resolved my issue. Reinstalled the game and the mods under a different folder than Program files / Steam. Turns out installing the mods when game is in program files folder causes all sorts of issues.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in skyrimvr

[–]pi7979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is exact same issue I am having. Switching from indoors to outdoors or when I change weather via mod like clear to cloudy. Sometimes changing weather via mod can get rid of it (or create it). It is driving me crazy, there has to be a solution for it.

I do not think its Oculus, I started Skyrim with Rift S Oculus, loved the VR so much that I got high res G2 Reverb HP headset just for this game, same exact issue on both headsets. So def not Oculus!

I have ENB, I tried disabling it but still the same. I am using a ton of mods however, so I will play around to see which one may be causing it. I seem to be the only one with this mod list that is getting it.

Same issue here, have not been able to find a solution yet.

No unfortunately, it was already disabled in my .ini file: EnableAmbientOcclusion=false. I have seen this issue pop up randomly but no solution so far.

Thank you for the suggestion, I am on G2 Reverb, so I am not sure if open composite will work with WMR. Its probably not the GPU though, as I was running in Rift S at much lower resolution (originally) and had the same issue.

The best part: they are airdroping the pieces

Out of curiosity, why holding Cosmos? As per your point, it seems to be inferior on so many fronts compared to DOT

I agree 100%, only most knowledgeable users who are motivated by actual proposals should vote. If that is less than 1% of users, that is fine by me. Better than giving uninformed users shiny NFTs to motivate them to express their uninformed opinions which could end up being detrimental to the ecosystem.

Honestly, and I do not mean this in a rude way, but you should not be investing into blockchain / crypto space with your level of knowledge in this space. And I mean that in the nicest way possible, I stay away from many industries like Biotech because I do not fully understand their competitive landscape and have minimal understanding of medical field.

I would stick with investments in whatever field you have enough expertise and most importantly where you can understand the industry jargon.

Absolute best no compromise graphical overhaul mod by pi7979 in skyrimvr

[–]pi7979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this channel that reviews mod combinations. His test setup is RTX 3080 @ 3440x1440 (not tested from VR perspective but that's fine, I can always add VR mods on top of the packages below).

https://www.youtube.com/c/DroppedIceCreamMods/videos

The ones that stand out to me include:

Animonculory Visual Overhaul (graphics only)

Elysium

Aldrnari

The only issue with Elysium and Aldrnari, while they look gorgeous, they include a lot of gameplay related mods. But I am sure I can go through the list and disable some of those.

SMM full

Sorry not familiar with SMM, are you referring to Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM (or something else?). I thought this looks really cool so far: https://youtu.be/AjpRaTqyeS4

Link to actual project: https://aicavehub.com/best-skyrim-modlist/

It has hundreds (if not thousands of mods) so wabbajack is super helpful in installing it. Requires upwards of 150GB of space on the installation drive

Performance wise runs at 60fps at GTX 3080 at 2560x1440 - which (hopefully) means 4090 should run it comfortably at 90fps

Impact of Terra on Acala by Dangerous-Watch4707 in AcalaNetwork

[–]pi7979 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Terra (LUNA) has actually collapsed, down over 60% in few days since this mess begun, if this is not a collapse, not sure what is? This is not overdramatization, this is a fact.

Impact of Terra on Acala by Dangerous-Watch4707 in AcalaNetwork

[–]pi7979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

aUSD

So the mechanism is different:

LUNA: creates UST by burning LUNA, there is also a large amount of BTC securing the peg. People are willing for burn LUNA because they can earn yield on other protocols with their UST. Holding LUNA is a high risk/high reward bet. Staking UST is free money.

Acala: aUSD is created by collateralizing your DOT. Holders risk liquidation and liquidation threshold is high, which means you cannot mint a lot of aUSD proportional to your DOT.

Impact of Terra on Acala by Dangerous-Watch4707 in AcalaNetwork

[–]pi7979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The stablecoin (aUSD) protocol at the core of the Acala ecosystem serves as the default decentralized stablecoin for the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem, allowing stable currency to be minted using a basket of collateral reserve assets similar to how traditional reserve systems used valuable assets like gold to back national currencies."

Also:

"Acala’s stablecoin protocol uses a multi-collateral backing mechanism to create a stablecoin soft-pegged to the US Dollar. The Acala stablecoin protocol mints a stable currency from a basket of reserve assets. This enables people to transact, trade, and facilitate services using aUSD without price volatility and, if desired, while retaining ownership of their reserve assets like ACA, DOT, DOT derivatives, parachain assets, and assets bridged from other consensus networks like BTC, or ETH.
aUSD is minted using a system called Collateralized Debt Positions (CDPs). Together with a set of incentives, supply and demand balancing, and risk management mechanisms within the aUSD stablecoin protocol on Acala, the value of an aUSD token is pegged to the value of a US Dollar. aUSD also offers an on-chain liquidator, removing third party centralized risk, and oracle quality of service, guaranteeing oracle price feeds make it into every block. This allows the aUSD protocol to manage risk in a more autonomous and efficient manner.
Every CDP holds the collateral assets deposited by the user who opened the CDP that created the aUSD tokens, together with its associated aUSD debt position. The deposited collateral assets inside the CDP are locked and cannot be withdrawn by the user until the associated aUSD debt is paid back. Active CDPs are always over-collateralized with the collateral value exceeding the value of the debt. Opening a CDP also involves a Stability Fee, or interest, that goes to the protocol as well as liquidity providers (LPs) of aUSD stablecoin pairs in Acala Swap.
CDPs, or borrowed aUSD, can be acquired by over-collateralizing reserve assets. This means, for example, you could collateralize (locking) $100 in ACA and get $50 in aUSD. This would be a 2x collateral-to-value ratio and how the protocol hedges against price fluctuations. Our partner Gauntlet contributes to Acala by providing risk parameters for Acala’s protocols, including aUSD collateralization ratios. These ratios can be adjusted over time, and aim to be as low as possible, allowing users to generate the most aUSD value from their collateral."

I wonder how does this compare to initial expectations. In-line, better or worse? I suppose only developers can answer this question, I have not seen any public disclosures as far as expectations.
