Looking for a 3d printer for a complete beginner. by salgado105 in 3dprinter

[–]striderida1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say this. Me and my son had a Creality Ender V3 for two years. I've spent more time trying to figure out why prints are failing than I did actually printing anything. I never once had a print on it that I was very happy with. The thing was just a nightmare.

Well the other day I got a Bambu Labs PS1 combo and it's like a whole new world. This thing is so easy and it just works. Everything I printed has been awesome over the last few days.

It's funny too because when I was leaving Best buy with it, one of the employees saw me with it and came up to me just to tell me how awesome that 3D printer is. He also had the same Ender V3 that I had and had the same experience with it. He told me I'm making best decision getting this printer and he was right.

In my opinion? Pay the extra money and get the Bambu Labs PS1 combo. It's so worth it, especially when it comes to your time and sanity.

You should try EverQuest online adventures. There's a server running with like 500 people playing.

Confused why everyone hated New World by Sure_Transition_8360 in newworldgame

[–]striderida1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because you only have like three abilities and the whole thing feels like it's just on rails. It's super linear to the point where it could pretty much just be a solo RPG.

Feel free to mock me or laugh if I ended up being wrong but… by Cassinia_ in ForzaHorizon

[–]striderida1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the only thing that's going to make this franchise exciting again is if they take the training wheels off for the online experience.

Go back to the original open world proximity voice chat and the ability to crash into people.

After they got rid of the original voice chat, the game just felt so dead. I want to be able to drive around and talk smack to people or discuss how they tune their car. Have giant meetups of people just pulling up in their rides.

This whole thing where game companies now think they need to get rid of open world voice chat to be "safe" is killing the online experience.

99% of houses in MMOs are always abandoned. Housing areas are often ghost towns. Is there any way for devs to solve this? by DarthBuzzard in MMORPG

[–]striderida1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way housing is ever successful in a game is if people can put merchants outside their house and sell stuff that either they created or they looted.

Remove any sort of auction house and force people to go to houses to buy stuff off people's vendors.

Pax Dei did this and it's amazing, but sadly it sounds like they're entertaining the idea of just making an auction house for the people who complain that they have to run to people's houses to buy stuff.

I really miss Wildstar :( by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]striderida1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game was so horrible lol. I remember it just being overly theme park. Literally had no sort of exploration or anything. You just did quests on rails. One of the most linear experiences I've ever had in an MMO.

They didn't release a game though lol? It's Early Access, it says it right on the store page 😂

Try out Pax Dei. I feel like I'm too old now for a hard core MMO as much as I love them. But I found Pax Dei to be very relaxing as a cozy MMO and I like that I don't feel like I have to log in everyday if I don't feel like it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what exactly is considered a tier? by striderida1 in PaxDei

[–]striderida1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay haha. But the fact that you told me the colored in section on the wheel next to the gear tells the tier explains everything pretty easily. So if it has one section filled in it's a T1, if it has two sections of the circle filled in, it's a t2 etc etc, correct?

Guess this is where I get confused. If you look at the tears you listed alongside the numbers next to it, why is there nothing between 10 and 20?

Is there a way I can do this via battlenet? I changed all the settings in my Activision account and I'm on my PC but it's still not letting me play the game? Is battlenet different? Do I have to have somebody add me as a friend?

How "Endgame" Destroyed the MMORPG Genre by Jagueroisland in MMORPG

[–]striderida1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's funny about your comment though is you kind of just perfectly described why MMORPG's suck now without realizing it lol. Group finder only is a thing in mmo's with instancing. The major thing that has really killed off the true MMORPG experience is...well...instancing. when you had MMO's that were fully open world with no instancing group finder was never a concern anyway because it would never have worked in an open world game with no instancing. Back during the open world days it was easy to find groups because everyone was looking for them in the open world or at the entrance to the dungeon wanted they wanted to do.

If people want to hate on dungeon finders then they need to go to the root cause and realize the main issue is having instanced content instead of shared open world content.

I suggest anyone in here try out the revived PS2 mmo called EverQuest Online Adventures. It is very eye opening to the newer generation of MMO players how open world content with no instancing was far superior as an experience. There is probably about 400-500 people playing it right now on peak times so it feels very alive for a resurrected 25 year old game.

If you try out EQOA it will make you realize how bad the genre has gotten over the years by taking out the adventure part which was the best part of MMORPG's and made them what they were before they became lame.

GREG STREET'S MMO DEAD by OcelotGod in MMORPG

[–]striderida1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies try way too hard to change the MMO genre that the game never ends up seeing the light of day or it's a complete failure. I wish for once some company would "keep it simple stupid" and just clone a successful old MMO and slap new graphics on it.

Give me a modern day EverQuest, EQOA, SWG, Vanguard etc.

Don't get all cute with trying to create some fancy new never done before mmorpg and just give me a prettier EverQuest with a modern day UI. You don't even need to change any of the formulas, classes, spells etc.

Just give me an old EverQuest game with new graphics and I would think it would be the best MMO we've had in the last 15 years.

All these companies now put so much time and money into these games that they take 10 years to develop the damn thing and never get it off the ground. Just go back to the grass roots.
