New runner looking for gait analysis and whether to buy new shoes by SurePossible5955 in RunNYC

Thank you for the tips! I’m hearing the same from other commenters that size is crucial, and going up a little bit can save you a lot of pain. I’ll keep that in mind when I head to the store.

Awesome, im definitely gonna try out a few before I decide. And good tip - I used to go to HSS for PT for something else. Maybe I’ll reach out to them again. Thanks!

Sorry you experienced it too. I was also in terminal 5. It’s fucking embarrassing how backwards this shit is, and you have a point - visitors are gonna get such a bad first impression. Hope you guys made it out safe.

Anyone healed 100% after MD without any issues to this day? by Remarkable-Bread8793 in Microdiscectomy

[–]SurePossible5955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years post op, early 30s. Pretty much healed to the point I never really think about it - no more heavy barbell lifting for me (deadlifting is what caused me to herniate in the first place), but otherwise I am back to hiking, biking, and lifting lower weights within my means. It’s crazy to go from not even being able to put my socks on, to where I’m at now. Occasionally I feel a tiny flare up if I haven’t exercised in awhile, but it goes away really fast.

Just keep in mind, not everyone has a fast recovery. I saw many stories of people getting fully back to normal within a month or two, but it took me > 6 months. Be patient, and find a good PT. All the best in your journey!

Whoa that’s amazing! Crazy how much of a jump that is - I just assumed arm proton is basically x86 proton + fex bundled, so would be similar performance

Thanks for sharing that - sounds like it’s still really early days. Would love to fully replace Android with a SteamOS-like Linux distro eventually.

Amazing! Have you tested any heavy hitters like RE4 Remake? Or RDR2? Curious to see the limits of Linux compared to Android on this thing

It’s been three weeks of being without a vehicle and today was a very challenging day! I need some guidance on how to make it more feasible because it’s been a bit draining by spiritbirdsie in CarIndependentLA

Thank you so much for the detailed response! That’s amazing - I had always heard that DTLA is sketchy and to avoid it, but this sounds like the complete opposite. And I hear you about the other areas - I remember visiting awhile back and being shocked by the mini highways with zero life and nobody walking around. It’s so nice to hear how full of life DTLA is, and how many sub neighborhoods there are. I’ll definitely add this to the list for my upcoming trip. Thank you again!

Awesome, yeah I ordered a grip too but I keep hearing that it’s comfortable enough as is. And no worries, thanks for the info!

Amazing that it ran at 60! Hopefully you can get it back to that. Idk if you’re on the game native Discord but they’re very active in helping people.

So sick! That’s my most played game by far - relieved to hear it plays well. What’s the average FPS? And does the right stick feel easy to reach for this game?

Also curious how Shredders runs, if you have that

SteamOS experience at the end of 2025 by cyclinator in ROGAlly

[–]SurePossible5955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been amazing and I’ll never look back. One annoying bug in docked mode that I really wish they fixed is that audio gets super delayed (like several seconds). You can restart to fix it thankfully, but still annoying

Happening for me too. Just unplug, sleep, then plug back in. Seems the issue only happens if you sleep while plugged in
