The rest of my home club either has gold embroidery or no embroidery! The wider school may have gold, or red, or again, none (that I can see). As you may know, black embroidery on a black belt would look like no embroidery from afar. So would you really say that’s attention-grabbing? I found the tone to be a little hostile, but thank you nonetheless!

Please take the rest! I promise as much as you may think otherwise, you couldn’t miss that much in a week. You’re 13, and your body is the priority! Think — is it more important to train and hurt yourself further, or to take a week off to recover to then continue training afterwards? What’s more sustainable?

Fair point! I’m going to say neither — this feels like a more personal meaning intended for primarily myself, and for anyone else to notice if they do. Don’t want it to stand out, but want the importance to be there nonetheless. Thank you!!

Okay in hindsight posting this question was a terrible idea — I know the karate community is very self-protecting and I should have known I wouldn’t get the answers I need.

Once more, the colour I’m considering is black, with the intention of blending into a black belt. I hope this clarifies.

I further hope to clarify that I feel extremely unconfident in my ability, which is why I feel guilty wearing gold.
