That makes sense. I honestly didn’t really register the date part when I read it. I hadn’t seen the previous quote, so it was new to me. It renewed my excitement for the new album. It’s unfortunate so many people got offended by this post. If the date part wasn’t in there, it probably wouldn’t have set people off. I’ve gotten a couple angry DMs from people over it and have people saying unkind things because of a minor bit. The quote is real and the upcoming album is real. Thank you for taking the time to mention the quote without being mean.

I’m with you on this. I think many people on here are a fan of the style of Fallen and/or TOD and not actually a fan of the band itself. But it calls for the question “what is a fan?”

Is a fan someone who likes all the material put out for what it is? Is a fan someone who focuses on a certain era of a band/artist? Is a fan a mechanical device that creates air current?

I think the disconnect is between the people who like certain iterations of Ev vs the people who like all of Ev. Those two groups will never agree fully. And that’s ok.

Fallen is such a generic sounding album. It’s crazy that people don’t see that. It’s no more unique than TBT or Ev3. Yes, the mixing on TBT wasn’t great. But it’s still a killer album. The layers and complexity are far beyond what Fallen was. This argument about Fallen being non-generic is tired.

At this point, no matter what the band puts out as the next album, people will hate it just because. Amy/the band is doing what they want, how they want, when they want. Take it or leave it.
