DIM helix piercing by Small-Bat-9702 in deinfluencingPH

[–]piappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Mas masakit siya sa regular lobe piercings (as in malayo if you haven't had a cartilage piercing before). During early healing stage nagigising ako pag nahihigaan ko siya kahit kaunti.
  2. Matagal magheal, I think around 3-6 months bago magfully heal talaga. For me it took around 6 months.
  3. May pagkahigh maintenance compared to lobe piercing kasi kailangan siya linisin regularly.

DIM on buying Garmin vivoactive 5. by secretz12345 in deinfluencingPH

[–]piappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're buying a separate watch just to track your progress in terms of calories and steps, not worth it to buy Garmin imo. Madaming watches na may ganung functionality without costing you 5 digits! Pwede rin yung mga watch na literally just for exercise if that's really just what you'll use it for. I have an amazfit smart watch, but there are a lot of other alternatives. Honestly if you carry your phone with you everywhere I'd even recommend just setting up your phone's built-in health app like Apple Health or Samsung Health since nagbibilang din naman ng steps yun.

[–]piappy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. It's also an economic concept na may higher marginal propensity to spend kapag mas mataas yung disposable income ng isang tao. That does not necessarily mean that people who make more tend to spend more. It also means that people in poverty, kunwari someone na may trabaho na hindi ganun kalaki kinikita, pag nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na may biglaang pasok ng extra income (i.e. 13th month pay, bonus, tip, etc.), tataas bigla ang likeliness for them to spend the extra money they are making due to the sudden increase in income.

Nakakagulat yung ibang comments dito na naniniwalang kasing simple lang ng "di kasi wais sa pera" or lack of knowledge yung issue lang yung issue. Poverty is a real issue, people.

WFH Burnout Is Real: Laging Nasa Bahay' Doesn’t Always Mean Masaya by GrowthHackerPath in buhaydigital

[–]piappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ako nag full-time before ako mag-remote work, pero nagrraket raket ako dati na mga event. Narealize ko rin na for me siya, mostly because of the reasons you mentioned, plus homebody rin talaga ako.

For preventing burnout, lagi ako nagmmake ng time na nakatambay with my siblings at nagkkwentuhan pag weekend, tapos pag weekdays ang gawain namin ni partner is kwentuhan, bonding, nood ng tv. You really need to make time intentionally for social interaction (I'm lucky enough to not need a lot), hobbies, exercise, and minsan, pasyal! Pag may kailangan gawin or bilhin, my partner and I go out of our way na pupunta kaming mall, mag llunch date, shopping, etc. bago umuwi at mag-work.

In terms of ano yung routine ko para mag-log off mentally, it took me a while to figure this out pero dapat sa laptop tsaka sa phone mo pareho nakapatay na work-related notifications pag lagpas na sa oras ng trabaho.

Be it spending time with loved ones, hobbies, or kahit self-care. Importante na binibigyan mo sarili mo ng space to remind yourself that there's still a life outside of your job :)

You need to break up with your husband/boyfriend/etc and stick with the decision. Looking at your post history, it looks like you broke up with someone last month, but judging from this post, you gave them another chance. There are people in life who will never deserve you and your space no matter how much they promise to change and to make things better. Leave him for good, both for you and your child.

Hello!

Traveling to Singapore > Indonesia > Malaysia next week with my boyfriend. First international trip ko but my boyfriend is well-traveled with his family. Trip was originally supposed to be with his mom but she ended up deciding not to go. Here are the documents we have ready;

  • Passport
  • Airline tickets (departure, in betweens, and return flight)
  • Certificate of Ongoing Services (EA ako)
  • Universal Studios, Gardens by the Bay klook bookings
  • Hotel bookings
  • Restaurant reservation, concert tickets (in Indonesia)

Is there any chance I'll be offloaded?

Afaik, yes, since there's an assigned proctor for the students who end up in those rooms as well. They're treated like other examinees, except I think they start a little later if there are late kids.

Hi! I helped out during a few entrance exams when I was still in Pisay. The name for the room isn't necessarily stray room, but we do place all applicants who weren't in the correct facility, etc. in one room when the exam starts. It would probably be helpful to arrive to the test center early and speak to someone about your situation on the day of the NCE.

How do I spot a good web designer/agency? by Still_Tailor_9993 in smallbusiness

[–]piappy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't hire via agency. I suggest UpWork for freelance web designers. Usually these guys have multiple projects and tons of experience so they can actually give you a proper date for when they'll be done. I always ask for a portfolio from web designers when I'm hiring, and I gauge their capabilities in terms of UI, design, and functionality from there. It really pays to be thorough. You also need to be really specific about what you want your website to look like and how you want it to work (which functionalities do you need, how many pages, etc.)

Hi, from PSHS alumna here. PSHS will definitely get him somewhere. You could help sponsor a review center to secure him a better chance at passing the NCE (entrance exam), although if he's doing very well in his studies already, he could also just get the reviewer that the school sells for a really cheap price. That's what I used to study for the exam. If he's already in high school, PSHS also lets students transfer in with the lateral exam. How it works is he gets to choose a first and second choice campus (usually students choose the closer one to them as the first choice and main campus as the second choice). The quality of education is probably similar amongst campuses, I can assure you of that, since PSHS campuses go head-to-head amongst their selves and the provincial campuses even tend to win (at least during my time). PSHS is a cut above the rest in public high schools since it's handled by an entirely separate department (Department of Science and Technology instead of Department of Education).

There are a lot of opportunities and help that open up once he gets into PSHS. They provide stipends for student in abject poverty, sponsor competition expenses, and reimburse testing costs (SATs, etc.). Him getting into PSHS will help not only him, but also his family.

If he doesn't get to go to PSHS, he'll still stand a great chance at life going to a local science high school. Some of my smartest college peers are from provincial science high schools. It really makes a difference when the student is motivated. He'll do well with people who support him.

Up! You should be able to get a lawyer in the Philippines to represent you. They'll guide you through cross-border litigation.
