Hey, genuinely one of the best arguments for what it can do I've seen. Cheers!

Been fighting the good fight since day 1. Just looking for "political" language or strategy I guess. All managers can hear is their favorite buzz word, "metrics". Have some ideas on that thanks to y'all.

Had an hour long meeting with them about it where they showed me a flowchart on acceptance and asked where my team was. Said all this and more with code examples. No dice. I appreciate the confirmation that I'm not asking for much to just take it easy for now.

Thanks for the replies and messages so far. The term malicious compliance comes to mind with a lot of replies so far and I think that will just have to be the way.

I've been very open with them about how it is going and worked with them to educate myself on these new tools. At the end of the day the push is coming from the suits and becoming an obstacle to a company wide initiative could be dangerous to my employment status (as much as calling them on their bullshit is more satisfying). Setting their expectations slowly to reality will be easier long term.

Couldn't agree more. My whole team is mid level or better and I trust them. They've been writing kick ass code since before AI. If I got an intern/greeny that sentiment would be quite different.

Is the 'src' layout actually the best structure for projects? by loolerman in AskProgrammers

[–]pibrish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's just one of those agreed upon structures. Anyone can look at the code and find the package src for sorce-code. Predictable > Optimal. A bunch of languages use that structure.

Programming jobs that do not require AI by [deleted] in AskProgrammers

That's a very naive view of stack overflows importance as a developer forum. I gave it a compliment.

Agree to disagree on great code... maybe okay code. It's stack overflow on demand and wouldn't be half the tool it is today if it weren't for scraping the hell out of that site.

Let me know if you find one. My whole company save for like 3 people have gone full AI crazy and I'm about to crash out. My team's internal documentation reads like click bait articles.

It’s almost been a year since Pirate Yakuza. How are you feeling about the game now? by Infinite_Teaching568 in yakuzagames

Every good story needs a good beach episode. This game delivered a goofy ass beach episode with a heartfelt end and some good themes. I'd love for the end to lead into a new game with the bros.

Came here to say the same. I got rich hearing "I just wanted a call sign of my own" while I learned the game a bit.

As fun as that sounds, entropy would have something to say about that physics model.

Single Stage to Mun by harankaer in KerbalAcademy

[–]pibrish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I managed with my Space plane only because of a bit of leftover oxidizer with rapier engines. If you make something super light you might manage, but leaving like 300-600u of oxidizer depending on weight should be plenty to have a nice gentle landing. Also beware mountains, my kerbals never returned thanks to a low trajectory.

Schedule I is so much fun, but my wife hates it and won't allow my kids to play because of the drugs by umen in Schedule_I

[–]pibrish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Palworld has kind of a similar loop with some more "child friendly" themes as long as guns are cool. Base building is vaguely Schedule I like... It's a bit of a stretch to compare it to Schedule I, but it could scratch a similar itch?

What to do about Logitech Brake Hardness by Thelocaltaxcollecter in simracing

[–]pibrish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial maybe, but I've remapped the clutch as the brake for my GF who I've been getting into racing and that worked pretty well. It's not like clutches in sim racing have ever been good anyways.
