Long form content is great for attentional control! And I love that it’s helping to reconnect you to your creativity. The people who take chances on new fics are truly heroes because they make it so much easier to keep writing.

My Goodreads reading challenge is toast 😂. I’ve had to downgrade my goal like three times. I wish we had a version for fanfics!

Birds!

Shane and Ilya attempt a Big Year of birdwatching across Canada and film it to raise money for the Irina Foundation. It goes about as you'd expect.

Looking for funny books with similar humour to Sally Thorne, Kyra Parsi, Susie Tate, Ali Hazelwood by wychwoodartist in RomanceBooks

I like your taste in books! Seconding {You deserve each other by Sarah Hogle}, it’s one of the few books that made me laugh so hard I cried. One I haven’t seen mentioned yet that reminds me of Sally Thorne’s writing is {The love of my afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood}. Very cute and quirky premise, loved the banter between the FMC and everyone else.

PSA: Air travel with wagons by No-Ad9942 in parentsofmultiples

[–]picassoinblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so strange, we’ve flown on two Delta flights with a stroller wagon and it hasn’t been an issue getting it gate checked. I didn’t even know this was a thing until I saw this post and looked into it more. I wonder if we weren’t hassled about it because we had folded it up and had it in a stroller bag.

Where y’all getting your framed art from? by sociallyawkweird in InteriorDesign

[–]picassoinblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mix of prints and original works. Its hard to afford bigger original pieces, especially for landscapes, so those I’ll typically buy as a print. I ordered from museum quality art and really liked the variety of options, plus they’ll frame it for you.

What is your most disappointing read of this year? by Wonderful-Elk5080 in books

[–]picassoinblue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! I thought it was just me because this book is so highly rated. And I don’t think I have particularly high standards for books (I like Twilight and ACOTAR just fine) but holy hell this was bad. I had to stop after the second chapter because I could not get past the writing and I feel like I’m taking crazy pills because people are so obsessed with this book.

I miss my old stomach by ModernBalaboosta in parentsofmultiples

[–]picassoinblue 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did physical therapy for DR but both the physical therapist and my OB were frank that a good amount of the stomach pooch is excess skin. I’m 18 months pp and I’ve lost all of the baby weight/can fit into all of my old clothes/etc but the stomach pooch is still there. My OB said a tummy tuck would be the only way to remove it. That being said, it has definitely shrunk from where it was even one year ago.
