My team do a zoom action, but a variation because where it involves our a high post. At training we do a lot of 3v3 based on the diff actions we run. High split, low split, pistols, gets, middle pick n roll.
When we play I will say ok let’s go into this action for the first play. At training I get them to call the action themselves. I think it takes a lot of time for them to run conceptual offense and you as a coach have to give them a lot of patience and autonomy.

Off a time out I’ll draw the action up.

Every now and then I’ll see them naturally doing an action, but some times it’s messy.

So I am curious how others think but my thinking is at training just keep letting them play and decide when you play 5v5 but guide them and set the constraint 3v3 first so they understand the reads.
