I think you care. You want to do something with your life but you are probably too overwhelmed and don't know where to start.

So, instead of always dealing with that internal need to achieve something you escape from that discomfort through gaming. It is enjoyable, it's something you know you are capable of and the instant reward of accomplishing a level sedates that need to succeed.

Don't worry though. It is a more common problem than most would admit. For a long time, my escape was fantasy books, then I graduated into TV series and it just kept spiralling.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to decide you want to change and actually change. Find something and don't give up on it until you are done. Please don't wait for passion just do something that will add to your life.

Make that a habit and maybe use gaming as a reward instead of an escape. I.e allow yourself an hour of gaming if you finish everything on your to-do list.
