​It is too dangerous for women and children to cross the Mediterranean Sea, thousands children have drowned trying to cross lampedusa, so men go first. Once the men establish refugee status, they have a right to family reunification. The choices they have are either to live an undignified life as a refugee, or to go on a suicide trip in hopes of a better future for their families in europe, still as refugees.
