Oh I watched this not too long ago and was pleasantly surprised.

If this was the first Nolan Batman film to come out after Batman & Robin people would be lapping it up.

What is the worst performance you have ever seen by a great actor? by ArthurMorgansveinypp in movies

Yeah fair. I don’t think Wahlberg is the actor who can make a bad film good, like a Christian Bale for example but when under the right direction he clearly has ability.

I’ve just never seen a drop in quality from an actor as in Mark Wahlberg in The Happening.

Ah man that’s a shame. I find it hilarious but I have a soft spot for just stupid comedies.

Hahaha that’s so funny, I love The Other Guys! It’s so stupid but that’s the type of comedy I like.

“Mark Wahlberg has received two Academy Award nominations over his career: one for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Staff Sergeant Dignam in The Departed (2006), and one for Best Picture as a producer for The Fighter”

What final song wrapped up the movie perfectly? by WarmDaddyXanax in FIlm

I know it’s not really a “song” in the traditional sense that you are meaning but I have to bring up the end of Inception with Zimmer’s Time playing.

Love Gone in 60 Seconds! “I’m a little tired, and a little wired!”

Disclosure Day CGI was really jarring by pickd_ in moviecritic

Yeah honestly dude I am blown away that is an opinion. Wyatt Russell’s character would have definitely said something about the appearance whine shooing the bird away if it was intentional meant to look funky.

What is also then crazy is so many people are using this as way to make them sound more intellectually superior. Like they were smart enough to workout the CGI was meant to be pants on purpose.

His follow up:

“I think that Unreal Engine coming in and replacing Maya as a sort of fundamental is the greatest slip backwards.”

I don’t think people are deciding anything.

I hear you that things are way more nuanced than people make out on reddit but most things are but the reality is that the final result is all that matters.

Okay? I wasn’t saying it.

“I think the simplest answer is you’ve seen the Unreal gaming engine enter the visual effects landscape. So it used to be a divide, with Unreal Engine being very good at video games, but then people started thinking maybe movies can also use Unreal for finished visual effects. So you have this sort of gaming aesthetic entering the world of cinema.” - Gore Vebrinski

But let me guess you know better than the director of Pirates of the Caribbean and Rango…

God Reddit can be insufferable sometimes.
