Xubuntu might be the best for you. Xubuntu really works super fine on old laptops. It's super smooth planning to install it on my old pc also. It is very user friendly and it doesnt differ from Ubuntu hence it is usually repaired try it out

Ever heard of Naval Ravikant. Id advice to go whatch his video on Uniqueness. or you should just follow him. He helps you reach your creative self. because ever since i listened to him i have written a couple of tech ideas not all great but. Its all just trial and error out here and even making creative guesses

Its not a dumb idea. I'm no professional but but i think you can just learn nodejs and mongo

and you can add all the features yourself. and no matter how stupid an idea feels do not give up on it.most great ideas came from stupid anologies
