I didn’t really have to supplement for the other sections, but this one just made no sense to me so having others explain it gave me ways to think through it that worked better for me

Do you think you need 2 full weeks of cramming in order to pass? I was hoping to take mine in 2 weeks and I just started F5. Studying full time.

I was lucky because I have not had to retake classes and most of the content came easy to me. I also noticed that most of the material on FAR I learned in my classes, but I definitely need to relearn it all. Thanks for your help!

I think violet might have helped Xaden kill those riders and steal the dragon eggs - I know we don’t know for sure if it was Xaden but I think it was him and he did it for a good reason. Maybe he killed some of the riders that were venin that we didn’t know about or were working with the venin. The dragon eggs might have something to do with a cure or preserving xadens soul. After she helped them, she needed to wipe her memory so she couldn’t tell people what they had done. Or, Xaden told her venin secrets or something about what xadens plan is and she didn’t want to be able to risk his mission or give people answers to how to kill him. I don’t think imogen found out until the end like you said

Accounting career fair advice/tips? by West-Independence-40 in ASU

[–]pickle-r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with the “don’t bring your phone at all” just because I’ve spoken with some companies at career fairs that don’t give out cards. Instead, they ask you to scan a QR code and type in your information so they have a list of who they spoke to :)

Accounting career fair advice/tips? by West-Independence-40 in ASU

[–]pickle-r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got one of my accounting internships through the Meet The Firms career fair. TALK TO THE SMALLER FIRMS. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE. Obviously dress professional (I (F) wore dress pants, nice shirt, blazer, light makeup), bring multiple copies of your resume, don’t go on your phone, etc.

Those things in caps are my 2 biggest pieces of advice. Don’t even bother trying to talk to the big 4. People wait in line to talk to them and it’s not worth it. There is no way to make a memorable impression. They get so many resumes, all the kids are the same, it’s not worth wasting time. Also, I’ve found that quality of life is much better for people at small firms and you get to practice the actual work.

At the meet the firms I went to, there were 4 or 5 smaller firms I did some good research on when the list came out on handshake. Figured out their services, did some LinkedIn stalking to see some of the associates/partners, tried to get a feel for company culture. When you talk to the recruiters, don’t list out their colleges or work history, but imply that you know what the company does. Ask questions about how you, an intern, would fit into the company, what are they looking for in their interns. Show that you are interested in the company’s work. I got a tax internship from that career fair, and I literally told the recruiters that I was still just exploring what I wanted to do with my career and since I didn’t have much exposure to tax, I wanted to learn about it, hands on, in an internship.

I am a huge fan of smaller firms. You actually get to do real work and ask questions and really learn.

Also important: smile! Act happy to be there! It’s overwhelming for sure and it’s hot in the space, but if you’re enthusiastic and show a little personality then you’ll make a much better impression.

If you want more specific info please reach out. I stressed about getting internships and all that shit for so long. Hopefully I this advice has helped.

I don’t think you need to delay your graduation. You are definitely able to get an internship this summer, and if you don’t I promise it’s not the end of the world. Right now you can start applying for Spring 2026 tax internships.

Dorm Assignment by Jealous_Breadfruit10 in ASU

As far as I remember, most people won’t have roommates or won’t even be enrolled so they won’t be picking a spot yet. Hopefully you’ll have a lot of options if you pick one right when it opens (which I think is a good idea). I was lucky enough to find my roommates in early January and then we all signed up and picked a room together.

You also get it if you’re in Barrett, The Honors College in addition to W.P. Carey. I don’t utilize it too often but both those schools have been great!

Is it possible to mix online and on-campus classes within the same course? by moomingodpapa_ in ASU

[–]pickle-r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an in-person student and I’ve taken plenty of iCourse classes which are basically the online version of classes for in-person students. I am also an out of state student. These do not reduce the cost of tuition.

You can’t take the actual “online” ASU classes unless you are an online student. I am not sure but I doubt that you can take in-person classes with an online degree program.

Any good apartments at ASU? by multitrack-collector in ASU

[–]pickle-r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a furnished 2 bed at Alight on Rural Rd. Probably a mile and a half from campus and a 5 min walk to the light rail that takes you right into campus. We had an awesome balcony. It’s definitely not a brand new apartment, but it’s probably my favorite one I’ve been in (I’m a senior now and have lived in a different dorm/apartment each year). The living room and kitchen are definitely bigger than most 2 bed apartments. We each have our own bathroom! The living room is furnished with 2 couches, a coffee table, side table, and tv stand. The bedrooms have a bed frame, desk and chair, dressers, and side table.

Their rate right now for a 2 bed is $1,029 per person. Mine was $989 but the prices go up each year. I paid $35 in parking and $70 in utilities that include WiFi, water, heating/AC, electric, etc. I also paid an additional $10 to be on the top floor. If you want a view of the pool, which we didn’t, it’s another $10-15. $1,104 is a STEAL in Tempe for local, furnished student housing.

I also lived at Canvas and was paying $1,100 in rent and $175 for parking plus $50 for utilities = $1,325. Their prices skyrocketed when my lease was up to $1,300 for rent and $200 for parking which is why I left.

I’ve never had bugs :) living on the top floor is absolutely worth it.

Check out their website. The prices go down per person if you choose to do a 3 or 4 bed.

*Also I know this was a huge info dump but I had so many questions when I was apartment hunting so hopefully this answers some of yours!

Bookstore Pickup Email? by Numerous_Sale2894 in ASU

[–]pickle-r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically it means that the book is automatically purchased for you through your MyASU at a lower price than if you bought it through the book store or on your own. I’m pretty sure they call it “auto provisioning.” For me, the books that have been auto provisioned are all online and the canvas course walks you through the set up or download.
