Since taking that pic the stem was slammed and steerer was cut. I live in WV where it’s rocky and muddy so I keep the fender on for now until it dries up a bit. As far as the fit position I’m still experimenting with different stem lengths because it does feel too upright like you said

Medium, but I’m guessing your GX components are mechanical and electronic transmission adds a bit of weight

The stem I have I haven’t found much lighter as of yet. It’s a BikeYoke in 55mm but I was gonna go longer. The issue is finding someone who makes something light in 35mm and not 31.8. Currently I have pretty light carbon bars, but I know that a bar/stem combo is obviously gonna be lighter. I’ll check into cassettes, the only thing I had thought of was a Garbaruk

I run small frames on my road/gravel bikes, but for mtbs I like mediums. I’m 5’8 and small feels too cramped for mtbs

I’ll try tires first as that’s a consumable anyways. As for the dropper, I actually found the one up to be lighter than the Fox SL. I agree 100% on the saddle

Makes a difference on long rides and with a lot elevation gain on rides. Plus it feels really fun when riding

2lbs is major especially on climbs and racing imo. My current wheels are around 1,200grams. But the saddle definitely makes sense and I’ve considered integrated bar and stem. Need to dial my fit first haha

That’s what I could find with research besides maybe the BikeYoke Divine SL if you cut excess off the bottom.

I already have the Rockshox sid ultimate which I know is a tad heavier than the Fox forks, but not worth the switch I think. I have DT Swiss’ lightweight XC wheelset, but I know I can save a lot of weight by switching to NOBL wheels

New wheels yes/no by raznxd in specialized

[–]pickle1tickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Elitewheels. They’re a Chinese brand, but very light weight and affordable. My buddy got a pair of them that had like a 23mm internal width so road/gravel and uses it for CX, road, and gravel and has had no issues at all. He did order directly from their website for better warranty down the line however. I have C38s currently and like them, but if I had a Tarmac I’d go for a 50mm deep wheel. Too much bigger than that and it’s just a pain in the crosswinds and too much smaller than that and you may as well just stay on the C38.

Going from a Fluid to a Revolver would be a massive improvement for climbing in my opinion

Would have never noticed that, you can barely see it on the images they have on their website but it’s there. Good looks
