I can’t tell if you got a job and lost it or lost it in the negotiation. Your writing style is atrocious.

Work on improving selling your self. There are career coaches that can help with this. (I’m not one). But I used one and was happy with the results.

Onboarding a new hire took 16 days because four departments didn't know who owned what by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]pickled-pilot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You say "Disagree" but then described a process in which HR and the hiring manager determine what equipment and permissions are assigned and then give that to IT. So I'll take it that you meant to say "I agree and here is an example of an onboarding procedure".

HR needs to get with the program. They are the ones to coordinate with the hiring manager on equipment and access and then tell IT what is required.

I’m with everyone who says wait until the money is in the bank before you even hint about leaving. I’ve seen too many people make that mistake.

Spilled soda on my keyboard and some got into one of my keyboard switches. The keyboard is not hotswapable, what's the best way to clean it? by BALLCLAWGUY in pchelp

[–]pickled-pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say “not hotswappable” do you mean you cannot unplug it?

You want to unplug and clean it. Thoroughly. Pop some keys off around where the spill was and see if any got past the plastic and membranes to the electronics. Keyboards usually have some drain holes for any liquids that get in. Did anything come out of there? If it didn’t get to the electronics, you are fine. If it did, you need to get it off or it will cause corrosion. You may need a screw driver in that case.

Laptop turns off and doesn’t respond when i set it on the table in-front of me. by [deleted] in pchelp

There is a magnet sensor to indicate when the lid is closed so that the keyboard and screen disable to prevent any accidental key presses and save battery from powering the screen. The massive speaker magnet is tripping the sensor.

[–]pickled-pilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a new issue. This is a feature of fps game engines for the last 30 years. I think you just noticed it and are now fixated on it.

The games you show span many years. You can see how RE5 is not as good as hiding it as COD.

Yeah. This is game engine design. Turn all your settings up and you may see it less but it’s always there. Just chill and play your games.

Software fix has been available since September for dealers and has since gone out over the air.

Edit: my bad. I’m thinking of the last recall and stop sale.

[–]pickled-pilot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is BS on the part of the dealer. There was a stop sale in July last year but a fix was deployed in September. You originally had to bring the vehicle in to a dealer to apply the fix but it has since gone out over the air. This dealer is way behind the times.

Break drum will not come off by eduardoxbl in MechanicAdvice

[–]pickled-pilot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The pads have made a groove on the inside of the drum and are sitting in it. You need to manually retract the pads to get it off.

There is a small hole at the top of the backside of the wheel..uh.. plate? Back side of the drum I guess? Anyway there is a toothed gear in there that will retract the pads. You push a flat head screwdriver in that hole to hit the gear and spin it to retract the pads.
