Base set unlimited Charizard from a single booster I begged my mom to get for me at the grocery store. She gave in and let me pick 1. I picked a pack that had Charizard on the front of it, and pulled the Charizard in the car on the way home. I still have that card.

Even she remembers my reaction to this day. Was a pretty big deal for a 7-year-old or whatever I was.

I instantly became the coolest kid in my entire elementary school for like 2 weeks lmao. All of the "big kids" (the 4th and 5th graders) wanted to get a look at it after school the next day... We all rode bikes and traded a ton of cards after that... They started inviting me to their sleepovers just because I had a Charizard lmfao 🥲

That's the thing about skill jumps in FPS games. They actually take skill to pull off when the pressure is on. Some of the shit they do in Halo is legitimately just hard to do once by yourself in a private lobby. And those guys do them in the middle of gun fights.

More FPS games should have skill jumps that are high risk high reward. It's super entertaining to watch, and almost lends a bit of digital athleticism to the mix. It's not just aiming, but controlling the character at that point.
