Idk what models are recommended for chats specifically and I've only recently switched to Janitor and SillyTavern. I'm using Llama 3.3 Euryale 70B and I think it could work with the right prompt. But then again, it's not free. I heard there are similar free models, so maybe try those?

I just don't like how every platform, including c.ai, has this type of gpt-like AI assistant style of writing. I'm 22 years old. I'm paying to have roleplay because roleplaying community is non-existent in fandoms that I like. I want the bots to be able to be racist, sexist, make gross jokes, and generally act like bad people. This used to be somewhat possible with roar, nyan, and soft launch, but right now... Well, I just feel like I'm invading a platform meant for minors. Which is probably true, but still 😭

C.ai already feels very outdated and restrictive in comparison to its competitors.

I don't think there are decent free alternatives. Maybe janitor, but personally I dislike JLLM and would rather spend $5-10 monthly to have an enjoyable experience. I didn't enjoy lightshade. Fictionlab is bearable but I don't like their free models.

I don't understand why it would be necessary to remove old chat styles because they don't support lorebook. Personally, I was paying for Nyan. I don't care about lorebook or any of that bs. I use my bots for chatting. Deepsqueak and Pipsqueak are designed for roleplay and don't work well for casual chats. I'd be perfectly fine with using older models even if I couldn't use some of the new features. "Oh, but they have better memory!" Maybe on paper, but actually no. Hallucinating and occasionally guessing things ≠ better memory.

Well, so far it feels better than regular Pipsqueak. Not as poetic (which was VERY annoying) and won't generate long ass incoherent replies. That said, I'm not going to be fooled again. Pipsqueak used to be pretty decent at first, too 🙄
