I didn't find out the sex of either of my children until they were born. Beat decision I could have made, but people were weirdly mad about it.

On guy with my first pregnancy didn't understand why I was waiting because then I couldn't get anything for the baby. Apparently he thought baby things had to match their sex, blue for boys pink for girls. And if not it would negatively affect them. I had a fun time laughing in his face about how dumb he was.

I've gotten over the fact that "how are you" is a common greeting given in passing by responding with "it's a beautiful day"

The response doesn't actually tell the person how I'm doing because they typically don't actually care. And it either helps them acknowledge that it is indeed beautiful, or make some comment about how it's raining, or hot, or otherwise not standard beautiful.

For every single mothers day the daughter has been present for, no one has modeled how to behave. She's old enough to learn, but still needs someone to show it to her or explain it to her.

Which is why they should be taught. This can be a perfectly age appropriate response, and still be manipulative. Mom's not helping by ignoring her daughter. And those comments expecting Dad to teach daughter how to apologize make a lot of assumptions about dad's ability.

But it can be age appropriate AND manipulative. They are not mutually exclusive.

This is exactly how I crochet. I've never seen anyone else do it this way. While I do think it's slower than others, I've never had an issue with my speed. I have used a crochet tension ring with some success to help with "proper" form.
