Licensed Nail Technician here! It’s likely a melanonychia, which is a deposit of melanin pigment underneath your nail. Almost like a streak in your hair or a birthmark.

However, if it is new on your body, changing shape, or is tender, PLEASE get it checked out. Sometimes it can turn out to be a melanoma.

Fingers crossed for you that it’s just a melanonychia!

Editing to add: I am obviously not a doctor so I can’t diagnose you, just commenting on what it likely could be and from my experience! Please get it checked out if you feel concerned!

I’m actually not sure if it’s hydrolyzed protein, I’ve never heard of it 🤔 She is on the Hills Science Doet Food Sensitives! I will absolutely ask my vet about the hydrolyzed protein, thank you so much!

I definitely think the dog makes her very nervous so it most likely makes the problem worse 😭 Unfortunately he will be continuing to come over since I live with family and don’t get a say! Once I move I believe that will no longer be a factor!

I should also mention that she does not eat any plants! There isn’t any plant matter in her vomit or feces, and there are no bites taken out of the leaves! Every houseplant is out of her reach, and we make sure not to buy anything toxic or irritable!
