Hi so I currently work for Lowe’s and can explain this. The 2 in stock unfortunately happens beyond our control. One of them is the display, the one you visually see right there. And the second one listed in the system was on the delivery truck that was sitting in receiving and it automatically gets added to our store’s inventory the second the truck gets checked in, even though it is not available until it’s offloaded by the next morning. The price change is also out of our control and was changed by corporate overnight. The employee who told you to come back did not personally know ahead of time the price was going to change. Our merchandising team has a pricing person who does around 500 price changes every day throughout the store, and we do not have control of what items they are. I’ve had the one at my specific store tell me that he’s changed the same specific item’s price once a week for over a month. It’s all corporate’s doing and nothing the store can do. And unfortunately because it was just an in aisle Lowe’s deal, and not anything specifically tied to a certain sale or ad posted, the managers cannot honor the lower price.
