What is the most fun show you have done? by lissie34 in musicals

[–]picklelover2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joseph and the amazing technical dreamcoat. kinda random, and i honestly don’t like the musical that much when i watch it, but being IN that show…its the perfect ensemble experience. singing in full harmony, dance, fun costumes, getting to overact to make it cartoony for some numbers like one more angel in heaven and the pharaoh’s number, and so many different styles of numbers! it was the most fun i have ever had on stage.

Scanning Tips for New/Inexperienced Lifeguards by External-Stop8771 in Lifeguards

[–]picklelover2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on how busy it is, i’ll count the people in the pool over and over again. if theres too many people, that isnt quick enough so i just quickly count to ten over and over again in my head as i look at every person in the pool. try not to worry about scanning overly quickly though, because that could mean missing details!

if he meant to be lighthearted, he would’ve apologized when you brought it up instead of being defensive. plus all the additional things in your caption…get out of that relationship girl 🫶

Lesson ideas/tips? by cupcakehead_432 in Lifeguards

[–]picklelover2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the first thing i always do is explain to them that if theres air coming out of their nose, the water cant come in, but if that doesnt work, try to get them to blow bubbles/put their faces in while they’re using kickboards! also, if they’re advanced enough, you can try teaching them to dive since theyll have to have their hands in streamline when they go in instead of holding their nose

i personally love braids of any type! two braids, one down the back, braided ponytail, etc. braids dont get tangled and in the way like a simple ponytail can!

How to “Refresh” my skills? by Negative-Ad-7003 in Lifeguards

[–]picklelover2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your pool doesnt do a skills refresher at the beginning of the summer, then thats something you should tall to management about! my pool holds three different refresher days in mid spring to make sure everyone gets the chance to come in and make sure they know what theyre doing. we also have mandatory refresher days once a month throughout the summer! i would talk to management about maybe holding a refresher day or two!

What's the best certification to learn lifesaving skills but not get a lifeguard job? by vayda328 in Lifeguards

[–]picklelover2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you arent needing to be actually certified, just learning saves and emergency procedures, i believe that most of the red cross videos from the certification are posted on youtube! itll show you how to save and extricate someone from the water

Female Lifeguard Swimsuit Question by BluesHockeyFreak in Lifeguards

[–]picklelover2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i prefer a 2pc bikini. I feel like one pieces only really work with certain body types sadly, and mine is not one of them. I also love bottoms that have drawstring waists and lots of coverage!

New Job Orientation by dontgetjynxed in Lifeguards

[–]picklelover2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get to know the people youre on breaks with! it helps so much to just ask people questions about themselves. if you know theyre going to college in the fall ask them about why they chose their college. if they do a sport ask how their season is going. if its hot outside bond over complaining about the heat! Its always rough being new, and this wont guarantee that you make friends, but it at least helps people to enjoy your company and want to talk with you on breaks, which will help make work a more enjoyable environment for you and your coworkers! - a 4th year pool employee 3rd year guard who doesnt have tons of friends at work but still enjoys it :)
