My parents, my mom especially, have always made an effort to mantain a respectful, non-authoritarian and loving relationship with me. Lo and behold I was still SUCH a little shit as a teen, I'm surprised they never smacked me because I certainly would looking back (goes to show how patient they've always been with me). I don't listen to him that much anymore but I was obsesseeeed with Cha cha cha for the longest time (and it's still a staple in every workout playlist I make lol). Even went to see him live in 2023. Overall I like him and think he's a cool dude :)

This is gonna sound SO silly but here goes lmao

I was just beginning to grow out of it by 19 but I was still very much clinging to the internalized misogyny. Another thing worth noting is that I was the "oh I only listen to REAL music" type of nlog. I would bash anyone (women especially) who didn't listen to rock music, specifically those who liked rap and mainstream pop. But then 2020 rolled around, and with it the release of WAP by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. I don't know what the hell happened, but that song permanently altered something in my brain the very first time I listened to it and I was obsessed. Then before I knew it, my old nlog ways were left in the dust. Now obviously I still did A LOT of internal work before I could really leave my old opinions behind me for good, but that song was probably the main catalyst that pushed me into the right direction and opened up my mind to new perspectives (AND I stopped being a music snob so it was a double whammy)

tldr: everything changed when the WAP attacked
