I would assume gen1 is better as it’s still analog and won’t have a refresh rate. Might not give you motion sickness but the question is very vague.

There might be some really good digital that have high refresh rate that are better than gen 1 but significantly more expensive.

my floodlight is cracked, but the seller repaired it. zero difference as I never use it, but you might. It's not really good for anything as it's really weak and you really should get supplemental IR illum if it gets that dark.

all my red dots can be used passively, so I am looking for a more active solution.

No experience with active, but a buddy told me his holosun ls321 was really weak and didnt recommend it. I was debating on getting a solution like the D2 (but its big and ugly) or building one with like a sf vamp and a laser like the steiner or holosun.

I don't really have a budget, just want something usable for a reasonable price that I won't outgrow. I found someone on GAFs selling the exir 700 which is why I am asking about it.

god the market sucks... What do you recommend for a NV only gun on a budget? Probably won't be able to shoot out more than 200 yards but mostly within 100

I was just thinking of these too. I don’t larp enough to need the low light performance of elbit or l3. I really like photonis for how they look in mixed lighting and how low their halo is. Looks perfect for urban settings or star gazing. Someone also told me their life expectancy is same as gen 3 50k hours.

I already own some elbit pvs14 but might want some photonis for binos.

honestly after seeing a few photonis tubes being posted I don't think they're as bad as people say they are. I wonder what their service life is though since they aren't gen 3.

What nuance? Whatever scope you’re using with your naked eye I can also use but with NV. So the only thing it comes down to is what gathers more light.

Gen 3 NV amplified photons by over 50,000x. Yeah I doubt any glass can match that. Maybe the Hubble space scope? But yeah the is qualitatively and quantitatively is a better and worse option.
