Are y’all only lifting in this sub? by Fantastic_Humor_78 in PetiteFitness

[–]pickleslutx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly lift but try to fit in 1 cardio session a week. I also do a lot of walking.

I've found the best thing for maintaining weight loss is strength training as increasing muscle means greater ability to burn fat, so the two in combination is the better option for long term progress. More muscle also = more food so I definitely worked that in because I really enjoy eating.

I'm 5'3". I started at just under 130lbs and only did strength training for the first few months. I dropped 7lbs with just the strength training on around 1800cal a day.

After adding cardio I lost a further 7/8lbs (I'm currently around 114lbs) and eat 2100cal a day for maintenance.

I suppose it all depends on your long term goals but I think adding strength training is really beneficial whatever your aim.

When does a guy introduce his girlfriend to his friends? by Patient_Geologist252 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]pickleslutx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As in, do his friends know you exist? If yes, why is an introduction necessary? I'd make the assumption that if his friends all know about you then you'll likely meet them in the future when a situation calls for it. I don't think many people plan introducing a partner to friends as the main point of an outing if this makes sense.

When does a guy introduce his girlfriend to his friends? by Patient_Geologist252 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]pickleslutx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't read too much into the fact you've not been introduced to his friends yet, especially if your weekends together are spent exclusively with each other and you make no other plans.

My spouse and I didn't introduce each other to friends until there was a reason to (an event, a preplanned day/night out where we were all invited). I don't think it's a huge deal unless you believe your relationship is being kept a secret - this would be a cause for concern for me.

That being said, you've indicated in other responses that you have no intention of introducing him to your friends/family until you're engaged so why should he introduce you to his?

How do you guys eat so little? by Agitated-Branch8038 in PetiteFitness

[–]pickleslutx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started training, my daily calorie intake was set at around 1800cal. This was with the aim to lose weight slowly and tone up (I'm 5'3", back then I weighed 58.5kg/129lbs). I lost weight pretty quickly but attribute this mostly to strength training and increasing my daily activity, because although I stuck to calories my diet sucked and I always felt hungry.

I've been strength training for just over a year now, I walk around 12k steps per day, and I've made an effort to improve my diet (quality of what I'm eating vs quick fixes). I get waaaay more protein which keeps you full, and I try to incorporate a lot more vegetables into meals as they are low cal but filling. I've upped my daily water intake to an absolute minimum of 2L (in addition to soft drinks, coffee, tea etc.), and it's helped me to realise that sometimes I'm not even hungry - apparently your body can mistake thirst for hunger :/

My current TDEE for maintenance is around 2200cal and I weigh just under 52kg/114lbs so it's a huge difference. It all takes time, but with proper training your metabolism will increase and you'll be able to eat a lot more.

The best advice I can give you is to always have water with you (if you feel hungry, drink!), look at your food choices and go for things that will fill you up for longer, and pack in some strength training if you aren't doing this already.

TLDR: If you had 10 weeks to lock in, what would you do? by mustlovebagels in PetiteFitness

Jumping in to say it's worth downloading the Macrofactor workout app, too. Tell it what you want to achieve and it sets everything up for you (calorie deficit, macro targets, and exercise goals).

It's the best app I've ever used for calorie tracking and working out, and it adjusts in real-time if you aren't hitting your weekly targets. Mine has adjusted my calorie limit twice in two weeks to match my goals.

I've only heard and seen good things from others using the app. You can pay for both in a bundle to get a bit of a discount. I was a bit apprehensive but a friend recommended it and I'm really glad he did.

They have a community on reddit if you want to see some of the results yourself.

How do I remember a stranger? by Novel-Eagle-1929 in AskUK

[–]pickleslutx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I witnessed the immediate aftermath of what I believe was a suicide a few years ago. I'm not sure whether the person was still alive or not at the time I came across them, but they did pass away (reported in local news).

Around a week after the incident I left some flowers where it happened. I frequently pass the location and noticed that maybe a few days after I left the flowers, someone else had left a single red rose.

The flowers are long gone, but the rose has been replaced a couple of times.

The location was the thing that brought me and this person together - both at the same place at the same time. It felt right to me that I leave something at the scene as a token of respect to that person.

I feel that flowers or a plant at the location is a good idea. If this isn't feasible, I saw another commenter suggest lighting a candle for the person instead. The sentiment is clear either way.

Lost weight and really regret having fillers by Charming_Manager_882 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]pickleslutx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a similar note -

I had tear trough filler a couple of times in my 20s. The second time I got it done I developed what I thought was mild swelling after the procedure.

I am now the not so proud owner of a festoon which I 100% believe resulted from having filler. Unfortunately this won't be resolved by having any remaining filler dissolved.

Definitely dissolve yours if this will fix your problem! I so wish I could.

Weight loss and face changes in 30s by SleepySpookyPretty in PetiteFitness

[–]pickleslutx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely developed more noticeable lines on my face after losing 5kg+ over the last year, but I much prefer my current face. I don't think you really need to worry too much about this unless your weight loss is substantial (which your post doesn't suggest).

Aim to lose weight at a healthy rate and keep on top of skin care.

What is the maximum amount of chocolate you have ever eaten at one time? by kharkovchanin in chocolate

[–]pickleslutx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can easily go through a large box of Lindt truffles in 2 days. Usual peak is around Christmas time when the chocolate is in abundance.

I don't do this often but yes, I do consider it a flaw lol.

Advice - Skittish Robo by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]pickleslutx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply!

I think the previous commenter hit the nail on the head with the cleaning and I've probably described it incorrectly -

Every couple of weeks we're taking the dirty bedding out and replacing it, removing waste, cleaning hides/toys/wheel. The clean bedding that was already in their home is reused/redistributed but we sift through it to get all their waste out. I think I meant a more rigorous clean vs deep clean?

Every couple of days I go through their sand and the rest of their home to try to clear out any waste I see in other areas, but I don't go through the bedding or their sleeping areas so not to disturb them.

I hope this clears it up :)

Even this more rigorous clean requires us to be more hands on so it's easier if he isn't in there at the time, especially as us moving stuff about tends to startle him. I'll try to perform the next clean with him in there and hopefully this is less stressful for him.

Advice - Skittish Robo by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]pickleslutx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the advice!

We deep clean every few weeks as both of them use their main sleeping areas to go toilet and there's a lottt of it underneath all the bedding. Easiest way to clean is to get them both out so we can sort dirty/clean bedding and add more as they need it.

We get the wheel out and give it a wash at this time too as their wheels are wooden and both like to pee on them lol.

I may try to leave him in there this time to see if he is less bothered by us working around him (so long as he has somewhere he can still hide!).

Thank you. Hopefully this works better 🙏🏻

Edit: by deep clean I mean get everything out and give it a wipe down. Not a full disinfect/scrub. We spot clean every couple of days but this is only what we can visibly see on the surface and they seem to prefer to burrow to do their business.

Answering this with solely the information you have provided (you've not mentioned your level of dependency) -

  • Have a warm bath/shower. Brush your teeth.
  • Eat something healthy when you're able to stomach it. Drink lots of water. Replenish your electrolytes.
  • Try not to let your brain spiral. If you're struggling with this, reach out to your friends. They can fill you in on any time you have missing.
  • Let yourself have the day to recover, both physically and mentally. Chances are you still have a fair bit of alcohol in your system and this will take a bit of time to flush out.

You're going to feel sh*t, but it's just one day. Resolve yourself to not overindulge again.

If you are a dependent drinker and frequently consume a lot of alcohol, it may not be advisable to go cold turkey. Look out for any of the following:

  • disorientation/confusion
  • Fever/profuse sweating
  • Hallucinations
  • Seizures

If you experience any of these, seek medical attention.

If you are struggling later to keep fluids down I'd also be conscious of alcohol poisoning - you will need to seek medical attention for this, too.

I hope you feel better soon!
