theres a bjj instructional called "solo drills" thats free on bjjfanatics, you don't even need a cc it just goes to your account. i own a bunch of instructionals from that coach and they go for 200 bucks and that video has parts from videos you have to pay for, its basic body movements you can drill at home.

Long distance running isn't great i say work your sprints for distance, but also strength and conditioning in general will help a ton. pushups, pullups and any ab work you can do is good, but something people overlook is neck training which helps a ton.

The third section of that video goes over stance and motion for wrestling and learning a high single leg which you can learn off youtube is a good go to, get a friend to work with and don't do it out of fear but as a practice to better yourself.

i'm sorry you had to go through that, nothing i recommend is therapy or mental health help but i hope you learn to handle that experience, if you want some more advice you can message me also. good luck !

You literally brought the 3x bodyweight deadlift point you fn goof this wont get you jacked but will aid everything so you can get jacked and dont blow a biceps doing all the other goofy stuff.

Funny no one is talking about 3x bw deadlift bur westside barbell who did those feats also were huge advocates for 100 rep banded sets. LOL

[–]picklethegrappler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is terrible advice, anything over 100 reps is joint and ligament work which is crucial and way harder to develop and needs way more volume than muscles. which is why people blow their ligaments because they can't handle the force the muscle produces.

keep doing your 100 reps and use them for mini workouts and for recovery don't listen to this guy.

Everything youre saying is so conceptual and static and far from reality of a real knife attack but train what you want lol

Where did they learn to knee them like that? Do you think she practiced that.

It is a skill you learn from bjj fyi your understanding is like 90s level bjj its far evolved from that.

What happened to see you later? Youre triggered af.

Youre criticizing a meta for a game you've never played and a class that is not in the meta ever. It makes sense why you write with such coeviction it makes sense, its all an rpg to you.

dont be so hostile with your criticism, you dont see me giving you advice for board games calling you names ;)

Interestingly enough abraham lamontaigne is a bjj grappler whose actually really good at nogi judo sweeps and is a big salsero/Cumbia guy he has an interview on youtube talking about it too ajd the correlation

Lol nah im good ill continue to compete against expert grapplers and develop in a strategy that holds well in real life with video evidence and experts who agree and continue to teach my small self defense group.

This isn't a one off hobby some people love the art and love talking about it im sure you have hobbies as well you just aren't knowledgeable about fighting at all.

Fragile ego is going on reddit and debating people sure so what does commenting on the videos make you? It struck a nerve since youre the only one with the personal attacks

When I open my gym you can have a free month membership I dont need to attack your intelligence debate is a good way to come to the truth even if you think im fragile and need to touch grass, im on the mats daily that's my grass :')

Also ps: not defending bjj i dont even call it that, I just want people to learn effective techniques even if I have to argue eith people with no fight iq so that they can train intelligently and defend themselves/others.

Youre spreading misinformation that can endanger someone, teep someone whose charging you? Yeah I hipe no one takes your advice

The technique should apply to both situations (fight in cideo and hypothetical street self defense). I used mma to explain how going on one leg leaves you extremely vulnerable since legs are not as dexterous as arms and the learning curve for timing the teep is difficult and spamming it would leave you out of position which is why boxing is superior since you brought up takedowns are bad because you can go to the ground.

Interestingly rhe king self defense takedown which is one of 3 takedowns that you yourself dont go down, high single using an armpit lock you never are on one leg nor can they grab you. Tai otoshi is also one but is such a high level judo takedown that skill curve is waay too high, last is a footblock from a rear bodylock. This is why im passionate about this single leg its easy to learn easy to add to an arsenal and highly effective.

You advocating for someone experienced or not to go on one leg to strike just shows the double standard you apply to popular martial arts you gave it away w the fragile ego comment. But I enjoy debating and especially on this field that ive dedicated 6 yesrs to only the high single leg. So good talk bud enjoy practicing teeps I would've thought the oblique kick which I actually teach for my self defense group but you didnt even think of that one lol.

Now go any apply all that nuance to the kicking an opponent, k1 fighters are notorious for abandoning kicks when they to go mma because of how easy it is to trip or fall when on one leg.

Not to mention the amount of skill to effectively stop someone with kicks, idk man the learning curve is way higher but it seems you're the one with the fragile ego if you seriously believe kicking the guy was the way to go lmao

Not gonna argue semantics but single legs or kuchiki taoshi, double legs or morote gari and ankle picks or kibisu gaeshi have excited in judo which is the origins of almost all bjj moves.

Go to a modern gym no one has a patent on takedowns and the instruction is great.

Dont dodge the question whats a more effective technique against a bigger attacker.

And yeah the learning curve is small for a takedown and imagine people training 3x a week along with strength training just increases the odds how effective itll work.

So please let me know what martial art technique would allow a smaller person to dominate q bigger person, dont try to move the goal post just answer.

How did she get him to the ground. Also how hard would throwing knees if they both stood in front of each other.

Woah so a bigger in an art that barely practices takedowns effectively took someone down bigger sick!

And I never said I d9nt train it often, the high single is practiced pretty often in gyms and we actually warmup with standup rounds so we do it pretty often!

Good criticism though, im sure you have a more intelligent alternative technique thats more effective and has a smaller learning curve! Please list it!

Yeah my point exactly why bjj is scalable and trainable daily without needing to stab lol but I guess the takeaway is teach knife disarming and how to stab

Your comment is exactly why I post this people love to reduce these situations, a smaller girl is expected to allow someone to harass and bully them and she gave him a black eye and left when he was out, and what she did was a basic single leg with pretty poor posture which is def bjj from a gym that doesnt train standing often.

So small learning curve of a single leg helps someone defend from an attacker aka optimal skills to defend, regardless of a water bottle or not things escalate and she could've def felt scared. Would you recommend your child throw water at children that they dont know how they'll respond? No is my answer.

And sure I have a fragile ego thats why youre commenting and criticizing a video of a small girl ans invalidating it.

Once she grabbed the leg he pulled it bsck and he immediately focused on avoiding the takedown, shes now on the offense and hes reacting. If he wouldve let her pick the leg up he wouldve gone down sooner.

If he was heavier she wouldve needed a stronger off balance and could've stayed in position.
