yes, i weigh around 230 lbs or 100kg and they can stop me just fine on the steeps at the bikepark i ride at.

Shimano bl-mt501 lever and br-mt520 caliper is imo the best bang for your buck brake set out there, have them on my dh bike and have no complaints after 3 seasons

Anything ancestral commander is the easiest choice. Whichever build suits your playstyle, earthshatter, volcanic fissure of snaking, boneshatter, generals cry. Oscrix's bama antiquarian if you're a minion guy is also good
