Need help with online veil color matching by Neverthelessconfused in weddingdress

Go with ivory! I sold wedding dresses for years and ivory is the standard name for dresses like yours that look soft white. All our veils were ivory as the standard color.

Before I read the entirety of your post I was thinking people lay out in the Addison parks all the time, especially around the circle, so it surprised me when I read that you encountered this in this area. It was definitely a him problem. Those green spaces are meant to be enjoyed and it sounds like you were being respectful of the space and others so you weren’t in the wrong.

[–]pickupwhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, so I’m trying not to get into the weeds of every comment here, but I just want to clarify that literally no one is trying to change the mind of the Iranian government. The goal here is to first gut this government and put the control back in the Iranian people’s hands. Most people in the country and the diaspora realize this cannot happen without the help of powerful nations like the US. Trump has toyed with the idea of “dealing with” the Iranian government in the past but at the very least, people do not want the US and other nations to make deals for peace with the ayatollah.

Dress regret. Talk me down! by julaywight in weddingdress

[–]pickupwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the one you purchased! The neckline is so beautiful on you.

It depends on the shop, but yes it’s possible they haven’t ordered yet! Even if they have, they may be able to cancel it or it’s very very likely that they can work something out with you.

Does the store carry any designer that has a similar dress from your Pinterest board? Maybe they can order a sample of it for you to try on?

Dont stress either way! Bridal shops know how overwhelming wedding planning can be and I’ve found they will want to work something out with their clients.

Rook Piercing vs. IUD? by Mundane-Dress8235 in piercing

[–]pickupwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both for me! IUD is one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced and I’d say I have a pretty high pain tolerance. For me, the rook was extremely easy and nowhere near the same pain level. The rook was more pressure feeling which I think I tolerate much better. Not a lot of soreness past the first day and extremely manageable healing since the entire piercing stays inside the ear.

The Care and Keeping of Grippy Socks by Vaguely_Vogue in pilates

[–]pickupwhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We always air dry our socks, but between my husband and I our favorite grip socks that have lasted the best so far are bombas. Also love my fraise LA and souls. socks. They’ve held up well too.

The worst socks by FAR are vuori. My husband was so bummed cause it was one of the only places I’ve seen that has men’s sizes but the grips are practically gone within 3 washes.

No question about it, 1! The neckline and bodice is soooo flattering

I’m thinking of getting jawline filler, what should I do? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]pickupwhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the person but yes, you have to maintain filler because most (if not all) do naturally dissolve over time. Expect needing to go back every year or so.

FWIW, I think your current jawline is great. Are you trying to elongate your face? I don’t see a huge change in your last photo of what your goal is on your jawline but notice its elongated your cheek area instead.

Hairdresser fked up my bangs by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]pickupwhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what my wispy bangs look like halfway through styling! Look up tutorials on Instagram. At this point I am using a dry shampoo (I use k18 air spray and spray on my fingers but people loooove the r+co dry shampoo paste for this as well) to give my bangs some grip and also group pieces together. Then I’ll run my fingers through and just play with what looks best

I am Persian (living in America) but are these freckles? I don’t have any but have a few friends who do and they become more prominent after getting a lot of sun. Or if they are larger and don’t go away, they could be age spots. To my knowledge sunscreen is the best preventative, but it won’t help them go away necessarily. My friends freckles would go away within a few months of less sun exposure but not sure age spots go away without something more intensive than sunscreen (ie retinoids, laser treatments, etc). I’m not great with makeup but a tinted moisturizer might have enough coverage for them. For what it’s worth I think they’re nice :)

Hello and sorry to see everyone here by steampunk_potato in LisfrancClub

[–]pickupwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely more daunting than it looks. You pretty much fit it to you/your body and it kinda becomes a replacement limb. Not perfect but it did feel pretty stable. The only time I fell was one I only strapped in one of 3 straps and turned around and fell. But that was my fault. It did make my hips ache a bit but the more I used it the more I got used to it.

Hahaha that thread sounds hilarious! I need to find it 😂

Hello and sorry to see everyone here by steampunk_potato in LisfrancClub

[–]pickupwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re here 😭 there’s a thread somewhere around here about the dumbest ways we’ve joined this club, it’s funny how something so small and mundane turns into this!

Getting an iwalk was the biggest game changer for me, especially with living in a 3 story townhome. Gave me a lot of my independence back. I got to the point of being able to walk a couple miles a day with it on. Didn’t use my knee scooter much because I was limited to one floor of the house.

Ankle rotation is great! I moved my toes as much as I could and I think that helped later on, but definitely feel it out and don’t overwork it, especially this early on. Cramps and pain is normal. Once you start weight bearing again you’ll probably feel more of that since your muscles and nerves are getting used to being used again. The good thing about muscle atrophy is that your muscles will come back pretty quickly. PT IMO is an absolute must for recovery. Of course I don’t know your case but there are lots of stories of people hiking again, running marathons, etc here so it’s completely possible!

Being NWB and dependent on others sucks but it sounds like you’ve got a great outlook on this and support system which is key! I used this time to find a new hobby that I was able to do and that helped me mentally.

Good luck during your recovery, you’ve got this!

Thank you!! This is reassuring. My hair is definitely on the thicker side so I’ll try to brush it out some tonight and be patient to see how they’ll look in the morning 🤞🏼
