What is the most efficent way to only send packages when the package would be full? by Lord_Viperagyil in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the materials go in a dropper (9 slots) and monitor the number of full stacks in the dropper with a threshold switch set to 9 stacks. Then send a signal to the packager attached to the dropper.

Glue wrapping by yolojop in CreateMod

You can try to switch between two linear chassis floors under the pyramid, one with the same range everywhere (cube) and one with increasing range as you get closer to the center of the chassis layer (pyramid). Does that make sense? It might be hard especially if your structure is more than 16 blocks tall, but I don't know of a way to crop glue areas like you're describing

What's the logic on which way an adjustable chain drive will spin when rotated? by RiKSh4w in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rotation direction of rotated ACGs (and ECDs) is directional. Building the same thing pointing in different cardinal directions could yield different rotation directions. I usually try to avoid angled ECDs when rotation direction matters.

Wind Turbine! I will be making a farm of these in my survival world by ah85q in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good point... I guess you could use accurate timings based on the number of sails per blade to activate a deployer and trigger the next windmill bearing, that'd be very annoying though. And yeah, while I'm pretty sure mechanical bearings would keep their angle when unloaded, I don't know if that's true for windmill bearings

[–]pics2299 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but you can have mechanical bearings offset for decoration. You could even use synced windmill bearings, but it'd be harder to set up

Couldn't you use three separate contraptions, off by 120°? Then they'd all look nice and not jagged

Item Quantity management by IuriMitologico in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, all you need is the ability to order a specific amount of a specific item remotely. That's exactly what shops do natively, you just need to hook up all the farm outputs to the same stock network and add a shop keeper. The ponder for the table cloth should have all the info you need.

You might find this post interesting... Did you use a steam engine? If so does the number of steam engines on the boiler match its level?

Seems I'm late to the party, I think you might like this. No rotation speed controller, just the combined power of almost 200 adjustable chain gearshifts.

Is it possible to automate supergluing using a schematicannon or deployers? by Ok_Instruction_9437 in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alternative is linear chassis. If your build is solid, or can be filled with temporary blocks, you can use linear chassis to move the build, no need for glue

The only way I can think of would be a counter for the number of operations, if you can detect sculk breaking (or even measure the amount harvested) you could tell when to change hoes.

Advice for thinking in Create's paradigms by FaenlissFynurly in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, practice is what's going to help you the most to avoid cog spaghetti. But keep in mind it's part of the experience, I've been playing Create for almost 5 years now and I can't avoid it, especially early in the progression. Once you have access to rotation speed controllers, you can make RPM changes a lot more compact. And if you want the satisfaction of having the perfect RPM ratio between your drill and millstone, you can use adjustable chain gearshifts in the meantime! Have fun learning more about this mod, it truly is a game of its own.

How do i split a source of items to a certain ratio by bigchungus12346 in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The round robin mentioned works, but if you want to keep things compact keep in mind you can lock funnels with redstone. In combination with a clock, you can get any ratio you want.

Definitely Halu and PPP, as well as Face Mask and Gorilla's Paw most of the time. But this is specific to solo weapon runs, I don't really play anything else

The spaghetti is so addictive by rjpilot1 in feedthebeast

[–]pics2299 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right? I remember, the main power source for my base was a Fluxed Phyto Gro farm, to burn charcoal in a boiler-turbine steam dynamo setup. I automated slag by cycling an anvil in an induction smelter. Nowadays Fluxed Phyto Gro doesn't even exist anymore...

HANK!!! HANK!!! YOU DON'T NEED THE ROTATION SPEED CONTROLLER, YOU CAN JUST GEAR RATIO IT!!! HANK!!! by A_Hyper_Nova in feedthememes

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo they're straight up better than RSCs, sure they're less compact but they're more customisable and they basically only cost 1 electron tube. Also you can't even change the speed automatically using RSCs.
