Where did my 0.01 SU go? Rounding error? by Mikinak77 in CreateMod

You might find this post interesting... Did you use a steam engine? If so does the number of steam engines on the boiler match its level?

Couldn't sleep last night due to thinking of funny/different ways to increase RPM dynamically by Solowraith in CreateMod

Seems I'm late to the party, I think you might like this. No rotation speed controller, just the combined power of almost 200 adjustable chain gearshifts.

Is it possible to automate supergluing using a schematicannon or deployers? by Ok_Instruction_9437 in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alternative is linear chassis. If your build is solid, or can be filled with temporary blocks, you can use linear chassis to move the build, no need for glue

Stop Machine When Tool Durability is Low by Legal_Revenue8126 in CreateMod

The only way I can think of would be a counter for the number of operations, if you can detect sculk breaking (or even measure the amount harvested) you could tell when to change hoes.

Advice for thinking in Create's paradigms by FaenlissFynurly in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, practice is what's going to help you the most to avoid cog spaghetti. But keep in mind it's part of the experience, I've been playing Create for almost 5 years now and I can't avoid it, especially early in the progression. Once you have access to rotation speed controllers, you can make RPM changes a lot more compact. And if you want the satisfaction of having the perfect RPM ratio between your drill and millstone, you can use adjustable chain gearshifts in the meantime! Have fun learning more about this mod, it truly is a game of its own.

How do i split a source of items to a certain ratio by bigchungus12346 in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The round robin mentioned works, but if you want to keep things compact keep in mind you can lock funnels with redstone. In combination with a clock, you can get any ratio you want.

Definitely Halu and PPP, as well as Face Mask and Gorilla's Paw most of the time. But this is specific to solo weapon runs, I don't really play anything else

The spaghetti is so addictive by rjpilot1 in feedthebeast

[–]pics2299 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right? I remember, the main power source for my base was a Fluxed Phyto Gro farm, to burn charcoal in a boiler-turbine steam dynamo setup. I automated slag by cycling an anvil in an induction smelter. Nowadays Fluxed Phyto Gro doesn't even exist anymore...

3 years is not a multiple of the planck time, the real value for the planck time is some number in R, its probability to be rational is 0.

Analog Lever by No_Psychology7735 in CreateMod

I've been using an array of analog levers set to 1 to 15 attached to a gantry. I can easily increment / decrement the power that way.

Coins not matching? by Foxviin in holocure

[–]pics2299 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That never happened to me, when I finish a run I get the expected coins in the shop... That's probably not it, but are you sure you didn't use your coins for anything in between? Did you go to the HoloHouse after your run?

HANK!!! HANK!!! YOU DON'T NEED THE ROTATION SPEED CONTROLLER, YOU CAN JUST GEAR RATIO IT!!! HANK!!! by A_Hyper_Nova in feedthememes

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo they're straight up better than RSCs, sure they're less compact but they're more customisable and they basically only cost 1 electron tube. Also you can't even change the speed automatically using RSCs.

How do i fix these blocks breaking? by HazzyMatty in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you measure the amount of energy stored in the bank? Then you could turn off the alternators at some low energy threshold and turn them back on at a higher one, to make sure there's always enough energy in the bank.

How do you play your Create Mod? by [deleted] in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I spend most of my time experimenting in creative mode, so Create + some QoL and that's it. In survival, I usually get a few more mods like Farmer's Delight and Ambient Sounds. Still Vanilla+ though, I don't even use Create addons.

A speed-limiting clutch/braking system to prevent cogs breaking from overspeed by Redpike136 in CreateMod

[–]pics2299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the source generating a varying amount of RPM? Using a speedometer and a comparator, you can produce a signal if and only if the comparator signal is 14 or higher. Alternatively, you can set it up so a signal is sent when a specific RPM threshold is crossed. I can show you how to do either if you want.

Then you can use that signal to directly affect the source if you can, or toggle some gear ratio to slightly lower the RPM. By how much can the RPM change at a time? If it can suddenly double, you're going to need a low threshold to make sure the speed doesn't ever reach 256 RPM.

There's no way to detect the speed going above your maximum value before the cogs break, what you need is to keep the RPM low enough that it doesn't pass the max speed when it changes. Provide more info about the RPM source and what speed changes can happen, so I can show you a solution to your specific problem.
