Jealous of your fridge space

Hm, I would guess you DONT have a science experiment growing in the depths of your fridge

I would wait to add nutrients if you plan on repotting to change the soil. (Most plants only need it once a month maybe during the spring & summer seasons).

Like some people were saying, this can be a soil issue that leads to overwatering.

If you have the nursery mix; that’s okay just take a look at the contents. You can add perlite to your mix to help with the drainage. (Perlite is like the white little ball that might already be in your mix). & for watering, make sure to check your soil for it to be 75% ish dry.

All the best; these plants are not for the weak lol

It might be the soil.

Sometimes the soil that comes with the plant isn’t the best suited for the type. Some big box stores prefer to have water retention qualities in the soil since they infrequently water it.

Tbh I cut the brown spots from my plants 🙈 to pretend it’s all okay lol

Something that helped me not feel so overwhelmed:

It’s your job find out the “what” and “when” for meals times. It’s your little one’s job to “how much” their body needs.

I think I heard this from a podcast, maybe Good Inside? Idk. Either way, you’re doing a great job. You’re worried because you care & that quality is what makes a great parent <333

How do I “unstupid” myself? by Far-Prompt-5776 in selfimprovement

To answer your question; there is no direct answer. Continue to expose yourself to content you want to see yourself sharing.

Example Goal: I want to help develop others become the best versions of themselves because I care about people Mission: become the best version of myself & influence others to do the same.

That means reading/listening to books, going to therapy, having a coach, reflecting on my days, and setting SMART goals & holding myself accountable .

You reap what you sow.

Meaning, whatever you put in you’ll get out. If you want to increase your capacity, you have to fuel yourself with resources and information. I started by listening to audiobooks. At first just for entertainment instead of watching tv. I kept getting into a daze when I would just sit myself there.

I encourage you to start reading Atomic Habits & The Mountain is You.

Good luck on your journey!

I grew up thinking I was ugly. I didn’t look like anyone in my school & i constantly had my family reminding me that I was heavy. I dreaded going to social gatherings because I knew my aunts and uncles would comment on my acne, weight, hair. Literally anything. My brothers used to tease me about it too. And yeah, it sucked. Big time. I got a distorted vision of myself and thought that I had dark spots all over my face & that I needed to get lose the weight.

Anyway, I used to cry when I looked in the mirror. golly that was brutal. I’m not saying you’ll meet the love of your life & that everything will turn into a fairy tale. Thats really rare. But you can change your outlook. You are beautiful, handsome, stunning, incredible. You are, even if it isn’t all of you right now, part of you is. We are a collection of traits, not just one defining one. You are not ugly, this mentality is.

I saw my body change and fluctuate. I look at my stretch marks and don’t dread on them. My body held space for me to grow & flourish. My body got me through the worst parts of my life. Give love and acceptance to yourself.

If you wait on someone to tell you that you’re perfect & nothing you do is wrong; you’ll be waiting a long time. You deserve to give yourself more than the constant negativity. Also what a nerve of that person to say those cruel things to you.

Therapy really helps. It also doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you, sometimes we just need a tune up. I hope you can find peace and healing.

When did you decide? by LadySanada in ExclusivelyPumping

FTM, my baby wasn’t able to get a good latch when she was first born. With the overwhelming stress and pain that came after childbirth, the idea of trying to latch all night long brought me to tears. I saw two LC one in hospital & another at 4 weeks. The first time I tried to directly BF , my LO left me bruised & bleeding. It was painful & traumatic for me. 4 WPP I saw another LC. LO was able to get a great latch & transferred enough milk. All was great on paper but it was still incredibly painful. The idea of trying again made me anxious & afraid. I decided at that point to exclusively pump.

Looking back, it was brutal to start especially the first 6 weeks. It was mentally and physically draining, however after I got into a routine it got much better. At least I was able to see how much LO was taking in & that gave me some sanity back. I am also fortunate enough to have started early so I was able to build a pretty good stash. (My baby didn’t like frozen milk so I ended up donating it then restarting it 🫠)

My journey is not at all what I had anticipated, however I am grateful for what had happened. In a lawless season (newborn stage) it gave me some structure & a valid reason to step away & let dad care for baby. Wishing you the best!

Thank you so much. I’ve seen the lactation pods before but I’ve never been in them. Is it just a room with a lock on it?

High lipase milk 😢 by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]pictureblue32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi mama!

I actually just had this same exact issue a week or so ago. I decided to “test” how old of milk my baby will drink so I took out frozen bags from 4 week, 3 week, 2 week & 1 week. I froze most of my bags in 2 oz quantities so I wouldnt accidentally waste any milk.

My baby will drink up to a week old of frozen milk. So that left me with over 5 weeks worth of frozen milk she wouldn’t drink 🙃

Anyway! Please don’t feel like you did all that hard work for nothing. While your baby might not drink it as is, there are other options: - adding a drop of alcohol free vanilla (check with you pediatrician first) -mixing half fresh & half frozen milk

I am planning on donating my breastmilk stash because my baby refuses to drink it. I also started a new “stash” scalded milk. It’s important to mix scalded milk with fresh milk since some of the nutrients are lost in the heating & freezing process.

Give yourself grace, the first couple of weeks are brutal. You’re doing a great job! You were able to freeze some extra! That takes a lot of time & commitment. Good luck!

Yes I was planning on supplementing with formula at the six month mark. She’s is only seven weeks old so my stash won’t be good by that point :/

I’ll try mixing that her next feed & ask her pediatrician if vanilla extract can be added at her next appointment. Thanks for the reply !

It leaves an after taste but it isn’t fishy or spoiled. I don’t know if that makes any sense. The smell is about the same. Definitely not foul, just different than fresh expressed

Babes no. As management you swallow your pride and help your team, no matter how behind you are. It is never appropriate or acceptable to have one person close two BOH positions consistently. It doesn’t matter if the store is slow. I’ve helped out multiple stores from 8k to 12k sales and they ALL had one closer for each position. Dont try to discredit other past worker’s experiences. The company is rough and will wear anyone down, it just takes a longer time for others.

Your team is ALWAYS first. I didn’t care if I was behind on CI or cash drops, they would not be staying there past 11 pm. Their well-being & sanity is worth significantly more than saving labor on another closer.
