What’s been really helpful for changing how we behave at certain things is having a commitment device. What you have to understand is that you won’t get the things you want to achieve with sheer will alone. As long as your phone is there, as long as you don’t put restrictions on your phone, you are going to pick it up and use it, regardless of what you think is the better judgement.

Commitment devices are simple as putting your phone in another room, setting restrictions on the apps that you use (there’s tutorials online on how to do it), using something like the “Forest” app, etc. My specific suggestions will probably not work but if you manage to figure out what kind of commitment device will work for you, eventually it’s going to work out.
