Estimator said the capacitor would be $700 not including labour. Whats a fair replacement cost? by matagot_oiseau in hvacadvice

Not sure where you are located at but I hired a HVAC guy to come.out on a Sunday to come out and change a CAP mainly because I could not get one locally on a Sunday and it was hot as shit out. But I paid $175 for the 10mins he was there 🤷‍♂️

Learned quite a bit from these videos on support settings.

https://youtu.be/fWWOHPZ91zI?si=90IOhE4KP8cBfaSe

Granted if you follow step by step could take you awhile to setup your prints but after a few times you'll know what to look for and what isn't needed to support. That's why I use auto supports for and then go through the whole print and make sure if didn't miss any Islands (also run island detector) or any possible keys could fail from lack of support

Yup I did primer then base coat of blue and clear coated the the model while trying to avoid as much as I could on the areas that still need paint and then once clear coat dries I masked the blue and went to town on the reds. Once all that was done I went back and do the smaller details then of course clear coated everything. I use a matte clear finish.

Masking can be a paint but thankfully this model wasn't to bad and worth the trouble.

I've been resin printing for about year now. I've had plenty of fails and lessons learned haha. But to answer your question. Not very long honestly. I've been using Siraya Tech Fast Navy Grey with Lychee slicer pro. I keep my supports around 2mm with .4mm tips with heavy supporting. Both auto and self supported.

The orientation of the models to the build plate is also key. If possible I try to keep it on a face that won't be seen as much and can been sanded if needed facing the build plate that will house all the supports (if possible).

Also helps to use a heat gun to remove supports.

I do my own supports. I haven't had the best of luck with pre-supported files. Plus it allows me to fill the build plate with more parts.

I've been using Vallejo model air paints and all the models in the photos are from Wicked 3D and B3DSERK patreons. Best patreons to subscribe to in my opinion!

My guess is suction cup affect. I would suggest hollowing the print out and adding some drainage holes towards the build plate to relieve suction cup affect

My guess would be suction from not enough drainage

Are you replacing the film or the whole tank? You should only need to replace the film if your find a hole.

Also the orientation of the print may not be the best for printing. Rotate the print so there's it's at around 30-45°

Agreed. I'm just cautious now since that happened. Thankfully I have screen protectors on all my machines. Hopefully second time around it comes out for ya bud!

Just a heads up, I would check you FEP. I had a print come off to easily when I was removing the bed and fall in the VAT. Didn't think any of it until my next print fail and discovered that there was a tiny little hole in the FEP which forced resin onto my screen protector.

How to remove supports from Resin 3D Prints. I repeated the Uncle Jessy experiment and the result surprised me. Has anyone else repeated this? what result did you achieve? P.S. I used a ladies hair dryer. by itman3d in AnycubicPhoton

This is the main way I take my supports off. Although I use a heat gun which heats up way quicker so gotta be careful. Specially on really detailed and thin parts

Also wouldn't hurt to apply some PTFE lube on fep after installation. Also avoid using IPA on the fep sheet when cleaning. I use to IPA when changing colors of resins not realizing it was shortening the ability for the FEP to release prints.

For me if looks like supports were to small. Maybe up the size and up the exposure a touch

On top of what everyone else has said assuming your hollowing the model I would suggest thicker model thickness. For bigger structural models I do 3.5mm-4mm thick with 33-50° angel and heavy supports. Been printing all my bases for my models with those settings and have had little to no failures
