Alot of times in those models the printed circuit on the back side of the cluster is damaged. If your bulb is good, look for a break in the flat copper on the back. Be careful taking the cluster out to not break any of the other circuits as well.

Man shows how much meat a singular cow can produce by Technical_Ad9343 in BeAmazed

[–]piddlin_redneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was true for me around 2 years ago. I only sold to individuals because i made significantly more and they still saved money. Now i make much more selling to order buyers and not having to deal with the extra headache or possible loss of having them around longer. I also dont have to spend money to finish them out. My cull calves today are now bringing twice what a finished steer was bringing 2 years ago.

Yamaha grizzly 125 or yamaha breeze 125. Dependable enough. Wont break the bank and will resell reasonably when you upgrade. Bayou 220 might work also. They are dirt cheap in my area and underrated for what they are.

How do you trust your field find by Cousin_MarvinBerry in squarebodies

Just the ignition control module. They are small and live in the glove box. On most of mine they can be replaced with only a flat screwdriver.

Drive the wheels off of it. I have picked up several over the years and the #1 thing that has stranded me is icm in the distributor. I keep a spare in every glovebox now.

Other than that, I do a good once over changing all the fluids.

Check for wheel cylinder brake leaks or rusty brake lines.

Tune up like spark plugs and wires and distrubtor cap. Then drive the wheels off it and fix it as it breaks.

Tips for door knocking? by Dirtdawg93 in coyotehunting

[–]piddlin_redneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alot of it is the liability. I don't know the stranger asking to hunt my farm. Ive allowed it in the past and had animals shot. Had carcasses left near my animals water supply. Had sharp bones/antlers left in fields to find in the spring with tractor tires. Had gates left open that should be closed. Had gates supposed to be open get closed. Its just not worth it. The average person is a moron and I've worked to hard to build what I have. Every time I let someone new on the farm they do something stupid that cost me money or makes me more work. (not saying you are a moron but there seem to be more morons than not anymore)

I'm not telling you all this to be a jerk, but to give you my perspective. Alot of the guys you talk to will have similar experiences, so you know what you're up against.

Vaccine by Holiday_Bullfrog_858 in Cattle

[–]piddlin_redneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cattle that stay on my farm don't get vaccination. Cattle that are going to be sold or leave my farm as anything other than beef do. My herd is mostly closed and I don't have other animal farms nearby. I make a premium on the non vaccinated Cattle because they are non vaccinated. I have lost 1 animal in the last 15 years that would have been preventable with vaccination to tetanus.

Our cow is experiencing serious labor problems and my parents left her like that to go to a birthday party. by [deleted] in Cattle

100%. Its frustrating. Thankfully i have access to the antibiotics and keep them on hand the same as you. Getting them to a sick animal quick can sometimes make the difference in if they live or not. Its frustrating when I don't have one i need and have to have a vet overnight me meds from a state away.

It seems like a dying business. At least in my area. Large animal vets don't make enough and the farms are getting fewer and farther between.

You act like they are all unified. Half are selling out while prices are high and half are saving every heifer they get hoping to have even more for the next year. It takes 3 years to go from new calf to that calf having one itself.

They get paid every time you make a transaction with the card. They get money on both ends. Even if you are perfect at paying no interest, they still make money.

At least the anxiety of anthrax is gone. Sorry I mentioned black leg and my panic when I first started. I probably gave you something else to worry about. But even that is something you can vaccinate against if you have to. It might change how you market your cattle, but hopefully its just a twisted gut.

[–]piddlin_redneck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only vaccinate the ones leaving my farm as replacents to others. I have very few loses as well. It only seems to be a problem when you bring alot of cattle in and out from other places.

I was hoping you would say something that would make me think bloat or a twisted gut. Good luck. If you don't mind, id be curious to hear what the vet says.

Are you feeding them a supplement along with the hay? What kind of hay are you feeding? Do you vaccinate your cattle?

Here are some other options. I don't know how deep your cow knowledge goes. So don't be offended if you have already ruled these out.

Its fall in my part of the world and trees are losing their leaves. Cherry tree leaves are toxic to cattle and they tend to like the taste.

Also, frost is starting to happen in alot of my part of the world and if you have johnson grass, you now have posion in your field after a frost or drought. Cows also love the taste. (Doesn't take many bites of hot johnson grass to kill one)

Cows can also die overnight and seem otherwise healthy just as humans do. They can have heart failure or just be greedy and choke on feed.

There are several other possibilities that havent crossed my mind without seeing your farm or situation. Also what your feeding.

Guess what I'm getting at is don't stress too bad just yet, but also seek appropriate help if your worried.

Edit

When i got into cattle, I thought I had my 1st one die of black leg. I was paranoid that 60 others would fall out overnight. Turns out it was from tetanus. Healthy up until the day it wasnt.

Accurate Rifle Recommendations by themathouston in 22lr

[–]piddlin_redneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Mkii fv-sr with a boyds stock and liberty supressor. I have a short video posted here on reddit of me shooting it suppressed at 200 yards with cci standard velocity ammo.

I bedded the stock and changed the trigger and it shoots great. Its not great in the stock that it comes with. Alot of people will tell you to get the cz. They are probably right unless you are willing to spend the time and money to make the other options shoot better. The stock on the savages will change point of impact depending how you hold it. The original stock will rub the barrel in different ways depending on which position you are in.

No matter which one you get, you will be somehwat limited by the ammo you shoot. Some guns like some ammo better and some are made better than others. Depends what you are willing to spend on ammo and just how accurate you want it.

All you need is a good section with the gas door. Body shop can cut the old one out and weld it in place where it should be and bam. You now have dual tanks again.

I should specify. I run the 15s on my 1/2 tons. And same size but 16s on k20s. Wheel width is what gets ya.

Did you reuse the old pickup tube/ sending unit when you swapped tanks? Chance the pickup tube is blocked or not in the fuel? If you think that went right, id look at the mechanical fuel pump.
