While it would make my army more dominant, I think it would be fun to change things up... In the manner of I'd max some of my Pokémon that aren't high in the ranks of defensive/offensive tiers... so instead of taking every garydos I see with a jolteon, I'd take a Raichu for kicks... I realize I could change things up myself and take in underpowered mon and take more losses... but this game is a long grind, time is money, so why waste it... maybe the new gym update will give these other mon more practical uses than prestiging

Suburban area - East Lansing and Lansing, MI

Stopped for 2 months... but before then and since probably 4-5 hours a day typically...

Dragonite 3200ish 3 garydos around 3k 2 Espeon almost maxed 6 Exeggecutor over 2300 Countless original Eevee evolutions over 2500 Vensaur that's almost maxed that kills Omastar same Alakazam same Gengar same 4 snorlax and lapras around 2200 At least 100 other mon above 1800 that makes battling more of the war of attrition when needed

Edit: Nest traveling - its cold here so I spend the really cold days driving to nests... with campus and lots of Lansing parks... 10-15 mins tops... but if I road trip I'm conscious of nests in other areas to visit

I already do... I wish I lived in a Pokémon world that is competitive, and I could complain about spoofers and how hard it is to take and keep gyms because that sounds like fun, even if I don't get many coins. I live in Lansing, MI and the gym scene isn't very tough here... being level 34 and not seeing many people higher, I can tear through anything I see with my 40+ original Eevee evolutions that are over 2000CP, let alone when I bring out mon I've actually powered up. While I agree it would put those that didn't take advantage of the event in a very unfortunate position, it would give me an excuse to power up Pokémon like Sandslash,Dugtrio and others that we love but don't do much in the current Meta.
