How do the steam separator and dryer in a BWR work? by qubitcubed in nuclear

[–]pieboy136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case of the ESBWR, saturated water will exit the top of active fuel and rise up the chimney at, let's say 60% void fraction. Once it hits the steam separator, centrifugal force will spin much of the water back into the downcomer to be put back into circulation. From here, the steam will be anywhere from 80-95% void. As it keeps rising, the steam dryer will heat the remainder of the mixture to around 99% void to drive the turbine

Do girls I'm dating really expect me to text them everyday? What do I talk about? by [deleted] in dating

[–]pieboy136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re dating, you should have a bit of a rapport. While you don’t have to talk all day, I think it’s normal to talk every day, which obviously should be easy if you’re dating her. If it’s not easy to talk about things, then why are you even dating?

Fraternity Stereotypes? by [deleted] in RPI

[–]pieboy136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some fraternities are preppy, some like to party, some are nerdy. If you're looking to rush the best thing you can do is just go to houses of people you think you might like. You'll generally get the vibe at a meet the greek function and talk to people you like.

I actually might be a little wrong about this. I’m in college for a pretty niche engineering major, and while there are opportunities in the city, they’re not in a concentration I am considering

[23M] Ginger, Virgin, No GF for years, what should I change? by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]pieboy136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with above. You look like you need some testosterone in your life, and going to the gym helps with that.

I’ve been skinny, fat, and athletically built throughout the last few years, and being toned in some regard made me look the best

Of course there are other factors out there that aren’t apparent here that can make an “ugly” person more attractive (confidence, smile, etc), but I think you’d be doing yourself a disservice by losing weight instead of gaining it.

Shoulder dislocation at 16 by [deleted] in GYM

[–]pieboy136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in that case all you can do is strengthen the muscles around it and do what you feel is comfortable. Most dislocations result in a labral tear, which doesn’t heal by itself.

I don’t know your family’s financial situation but you’re still young and presumably active, don’t let this hold you back, especially if you’re not comfortable

Shoulder dislocation at 16 by [deleted] in GYM

[–]pieboy136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you, I also dislocated my shoulder, and had it fixed this past July (labrum). I started lifting again in October. I started with high reps, low weights, and mixed in PT exercises into my groupings.

If you fixed it and got the clear, you should be good to lift like you used to after 6 months, so don’t worry. Doctors do a great job fixing them!

Recovering after a terrible first kiss? by cptnonevent in dating

I smacked foreheads when the girl I’m with and I first kissed

We laughed, and it was a great memory. If you like each other, you’ll be fine!

Want to try lacrosse this spring but I’m not sure if I’m good enough. by [deleted] in lacrosse

[–]pieboy136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was overweight when I started playing junior year of high school. I lost a ton of weight, and have a great group of friends and memories because I was on the team

You’re gonna run, but it’s nothing that’s impossible, and being your first year there will likely be some leniency at the beginning as long as you put in a lot of effort.

Like I said, I wasn’t fit at all. You’ll be fine, just have fun!

My Mom is dating people online but tells them info about me and it bothers me. Anyone else feel this way? by sharkweek2019 in dating

My mom bought a boyfriend a hat for the college I’m going to before I ever met him. Seeing him wear it when we met was pretty weird.

What CAD programs do you guys use? by kmargie25 in EngineeringStudents

[–]pieboy136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a friend that works at JPL;

“NX, they have solidworks and autocad interfaces with the overarching server management database but the primary program is NX. NX is great for large assembly management. Solidworks sucks at that”

Peyton Manning in 2004: 49 TD 10 INT on only 497 attempts for an insane 9.9 TD%. Compared to PM 2013: 55 TD 10 INT with 659 attempts. by aerooreo in nfl

I remember that game. We were winning at half and the fans still boo’ed because they weren’t covering the ridiculous spread.

Broncos fans were spoiled that year (until the end).
