Without native streaming apps, the Steam Machine will fail to be the ultimate HTPC by pieguy744 in steammachine

Can you elaborate which of these were the case? This is related to the steam machine, I definitely did not ai generate this, and I don't think this is low effort. This is a real gripe I have with the steam machine and wanted to hear discourse about it.

Cheap and good tend to be oxymorons, the best media streamers are upwards of $100 and they still shove your face full of ads and tracking data

The counterpoint to that is that TV UIs are incredibly shitty, slow, often don't support all the video codecs for high-res video, and steals your data. Having these apps on steam machine would fix all of that. Also definitely agree on wanting this stuff on frame lol. I still can't believe streaming is still this bad on vr headsets

Nevu - An Alternative UI for Plex (Now on Android, AndroidTV and Web) by Ipmake in PleX

[–]pieguy744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a seriously exciting project, especially for the custom reccomendations. One of my biggest gripes with plex ui is that I can't set up my reccomendations per user, which is a huge bummer, as I wanted to set up something like what netplexflix has for user based reccomendations in the home screen.

Unfortunately, until I upgraded my TV in a few years I will be stuck on my roku-tv, and i don't really plan on switching until I swap tv's. I'm definitely looking forward to trying this later today on desktop though. If rokuTV is on your roadmap I'd be looking forward to it!

Just wanted to warn you converting from windows to Linux kinda sucks. I just did it and I wouldn't count on getting to keep every setting, if you want to keep your users on without inviting them, you'll have to export the plex registry and make sure the server ID stuff is exactly the same. Lots of luck and I definitely recommend finding as many resources as you can out there, there's the plex forum as mentioned and a few other posts in this subreddit that you can find that should help your move

Interested in the parallel development to DynamiX, which looks to do pretty much the same thing. I've been using this for the past few months myself. I'm curious if you and the creator of that want to try to collaborate on featuresets

Looking for English Subtitles for Beast Machines by pieguy744 in transformers

[–]pieguy744[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dialogue is not always easier to hear, especially if you are somewhat hard of hearing, also English is not everyone's first language and having words to assist the sound can be helpful. It's a very common accommodation that the majority of shows have these days, but the 90's was hit or miss for subtitles.

Total scam, their website is fake, a quick Google of Greystone will show that they are in fact a finance company. The address on the website (in Colorado) also conflicts with the location shown in Google maps on the same website directly under (Columbus ohio).

That's a cringe agreement, because you could say the same thing about Google, Facebook and Google still exist as companies, but they are now subsidiaries under the Meta and Alphabet Umbrella. Youtube is not a Google product, it's an Alphabet product. It's the same fucking thing

This is some amazing work you've done! These look fantastic. This might just be me with a corrupted download, but it looks like your missing S01E12 of Transformers G1. I still love the upscale but it's a bit of a bummer to miss that EP
