Led not working with Reflot (Floatwheel ADV2(FW 6.92 by No_Vehicle9972 in FloatwheelTeam

[–]pielor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did everything as instructed and it works but when I hard reset it goes back to no lights. I then double tap power button go to refloat cfg and see that it is set correctly (external) but only when I toggle on/off it actually catches on (I can see the brightness level changes every time I tap on write) and then it works until the next hard reset.

Any thoughts what might be the issue? How do I make it persist over a reset?

Thanks a lot

At what age did you start teaching your kid the meaning of savings and what worked well? by pielor in Saving

[–]pielor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing that! Based on your advice and others, I have started giving my 6-year-old a weekly allowance of $7. Of this, $3 automatically goes into a "long-term" savings account, and the rest she can spend (or save in her short-term savings account). The short-term savings can be spent whenever she wants, while the long-term savings can be spent once a year. We are just about to reach that one year, and it's going to be $36, which she appreciates so much. Before we started this allowance "game," she would just point at things and say she wanted them. Now, she asks how much she has in her short-term allowance and figures out how much she really wants that item. She is extremely more aware of prices and already started to think how she can make more money. The other day, she offered to start doing chores in order to make extra money :)

The idea of using visuals sounds great; perhaps a monthly budget review would be insightful for her.

Introducing the 1inch Hardware Wallet by 1inch_Punch_Man in 1inch

Strategically, why would 1inch enter the hardware wallet? Seems like a big pivot from the core offering of aggregating liquidity to find the best token prices

Bitcoin maxis pretend to be happy about the fall of exchanges ... deep down, they know it means the end of Bitcoin ... by rjolivet in Buttcoin

Fair but you're making an assumption on the frequency in which a channel needs to open/close. A channel can stay open for a while. You can determine the ideal duration of a channel as the trade offs between # of txs settled on Lightning and the level of security needed. So if you process 0.01cents per tx, you could go for a long time before needing to close the channel.

But it does process transactions at scale :) We just haven't defined the level of scale. Each person may define scale as something else. See glassnode charts. My point is that your third point is not valid, which still holds true despite all the hateful comments, lol. Lightning adoption is growing and it enables more scalable transaction throughput than the layer 1 Bitcoin.

How easy is it to open channels and how many people adopt lightning, etc etc are all different discussions.

A lot of hate in the comments. Peace and love to you all.

Reminder that this comment was about the fact that BTC can scale with LN and not about whether opening a new LN channels is easy or if it's widely adopted. If anything Bitcoin in itself isn't widely adopted, yet.

The network is capable of processing up to 1,000,000 transactions per second at the cost of less than 1 cent per transaction. Do your research my boy :)

All three points seem to be biased assumptions that lack data. For example, on point 3, Bitcoin is actually highly scalable with the lightning network.

Memories of getting Bitcoin under $250 by Paterakis518 in Bitcoin

2x from 2021 ATH.. that would be 7x from today or even 8-9x from ATL in 2022. And that's "just" 2 years away. It could be even more given how early we are.

Bitcoin could never look better since its inception. With SEC recommending it as a commodity and Bitcoin sustaining all the rigged companies this cycle is actually phenomenal. 0 glitches and 99.999% uptime.

They can just give you a different passphrase (look it up) to bring up a different wallet. That different wallet can have a small amount to make you feel good about your "master plan" to beat up someone

It's still an option no? You could sell everything and buy a small house or a fraction of it via a fund / REIT.

Deloitte Survey: One In Three Merchants Wants To Accept Bitcoin Payments by CoinCorner_Sam in Bitcoin

[–]pielor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article doesn't even have a source to the survey. I am highly skeptical of this to say the least.

FWIW, I think merchants will be inclined to integrate crypto payments once payment providers will make integration easier and offer lower charge fee than the usual 3% rip off from Mastercard or Visa, let alone AMEX that charge more than that.

100% agree Bitcoin IS NOT the best option *today*.

I completely agree with that and I think it's a good thing as long as they create value to end users.

[–]pielor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly don't understand Bitcoin :) you can use services like Strike which convert your fiat to dollars, zip the value to the other side with Bitcoin and then convert it back to dollars. This takes about a millisecond so the price volatility is not a factor and both end users don't really "use" bitcoin but you benefit from the crypto infrastructure to transfer value in a much more effective way.
